Fan inspired and fun but very little basis in tarot
Let’s start with the cons first, these are tarot only in the sense of that they are 78 cards each one named with the major or minor arcana. The accompanying miniscule leaflet tells you they are based on the Rider Waite Smith system (the most popular tarot imagery around) but they really aren’t at all. There is no imagery, no symbolism and from what I can tell no real thought as to which queen is which card.Sharon needles is death which is great but bianca is judgement - yes it sort of fits but she would have been perfect as justice (judge Judy anyone?) or maybe even the Devil (“not today Satan”)The queens who make up the minor arcana seem to have no connection to either the suit or each other making it feel disjointed and in big writing on the box it says these aren’t affiliated with the show at all, they are unofficial and IMO should be seen at best as fan art.Now the positives - they are drawn with so much love and affection, all your favourites are here and if you know someone who collects tarot or is a massive fan if the show (I’m both) then they are a perfect present.I can’t help but feel that they didn’t need to be a tarot deck just because there were 78 queens. It could have been an amazing oracle deck with 50 of the most well known queens and words or personality attached to them as a mantra of the day... a missed opportunity really. Can you read with them? If you know tarot then yes, of course, but based solely on the specific card rather than the imagery. A couple of the images will be fun and add to the reading perhaps but again only really the more well known queens. It’s a fun deck, people like looking at it and I love it in my collection - but it’s tarot in name only

Nice collectors item
To be honest for the low price of these cards I can't really fault them although they were half price when I purchased them. They are a really fun item to own if you are a fan of Drag race and Tarot or just Drag race of course. The card stock is glossy and very thin, although this is easily overlooked as for me they are more of a novelty/collectors item that I will only use occasionally so they shouldn't accumulate too much wear & tear. The artwork is just as I expected, a digitally draw full body image of each drag queen. The card backs are bright pink which I LOVE. There is no guidebook but they do come with a singular card with instructions on but no card descriptions.I will say though, the cards come wrapped like most decks do but the box has no wrapping at all so it is easily scuffed on transit, however amazon were more than accommodating when I approached them about this.

Conventional tarot decks, sashay away!
First up, the down side; these are only tarot cards in the broadest sense. The imagery is that of individual contestants from the first 10 seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race. The deck doesn't include imagery that you would expect to see on a tarot deck. If you want to use them as a conventional tarot deck, you might be disappointed.HOWEVER! If you are a fan of RPDR, this is a great piece of merchandise to own. It is possible to do a reading using knowledge of the individual queens rather than actual tarot imagery. If you are a fan of the show and are looking for a campy, novelty item linked to it, this tarot deck is a fun item.
