It does what it is supposed to, however, 1, The claps have to be timed just right, 2. Dogs barking make the lights go on and off, 3. Any loud noise will do the same if it has a pause in it. It does work from a distance as you enter the room for example. So do the alternate noises that cause it to turn the lights on and off. So, I guess it needs some work to only recognize claps, not timed noises.

There is nothing "clap clap" about this. More like "clap - count to 5" clap again, hope, disappointment, wait for it to reset, try the same thing again, and it'll work. My wife loathes it. The 'settings' you can control are worthless. Garbage product. Go with another clapper

This item is easy to use and you don't have to keep clapping and clapping to figure it out. Just two claps. Done!

This product works well and saves me the trouble up getting up to turn on and off a lamp. But it requires some getting used to for the clapping functionality. A few random sounds have also been mistaken as claps and that causes a minor annoyance, but overall it is worth the money.

These other reviews are either fake, or I received a dud. The clap function does not work at all. I tried different pauses, distances from switch, volume. It did not work a single time.Amazon requires that at least one star is selected to submit review.

(My alarm produces a high scream. This switch requires a normal sound,,)..But at normal sounds, worked great.

Lights blinked, but thats about it! I clapped every which way, even the way it said to do it (which is weird that you have to "clap" in a certain rhythm). Anyway, didn't do anything. Clearly defective and will not be trying again!

I have a Clapper before, it only works under 200 watts. This one works better than I expected! Once you get familiar to the operation of this unit, you can easily switch lights on off! It's amazing! Recommended!
