Duncraft 52321 Cattail Wire Mesh Stake Feeder

Once you figure out how to fill this feeder it's not too bad. I use one hand as a funnel and shake the feeder with the same hand as I fill it from a spout container I use for black sunflower seed. Birds really like feedsing from it. Finches, gold finches, red wing blackbird and others birds feed from it almost year round.

I didn't get this at Amazon.... but still my review might help someone decide. Agreed this looked like a charming idea. The top screws off so you don't have to pull the stake up to fill it. However the cross bar the top screws into leaves two small slots to pour the seed.... which scatters all over. I don't know why I didn't think of squirrels when I bought them, but looked out to see the whole thing bent to the ground as either squirrels or racoons pulled it over to get at the seeds. Nope, I wasted my money.

Really nice item it assembles easily and looks really nice! Only annoyance is that the top screws on and it takes a little bit to get it unscrewed, and dont get food in the threaded hole because you will not get the top back on!
