(Updated....not so good!!! SEEKING A REPLACEMENT)
I got my item today using Amazons same day delivery. After my own “quality inspection”, as suggested by the instructions, everything looks good. The bed inflated nicely, it does have a smell to it, and it’s the perfect twin size. The smell is a lot like the smell from other airbeds. It’s not unusual. I will update my review after a bit more use of this item.Update:I seem to be having some issues with this product. The bed loses a lot of its firmness through the night. I know the material stretches, but how much is it really going to stretch? I am contimplating sending this item back and getting a refund. The center is also very soft. You kind of fall into it and are pretty much stuck there the whole night. I find myself having to add more air because it gets too soft too quick. In addition to my last update:I am trying to get in contact with the Tuomico company, as it does say the air bed has a 90 day return policy, and 2 year warranty. I need a replacement because the product I got is defective.

Perfect! Happy!
As expected, the initial PVC smell is strong after opening the box, but dissipates quickly. Bought it for one time use at the lakehouse, but I think we'll get WAY more use out of it. It's SOO EASY to setup. Just open the box, lay it where you want it, unfold it, plug it in, turn on, wait 2 minutes and then go to sleep. That's it!I got 2. One for me, the other for my son. We used it inside and on carpet in an air conditioned environment.I'm a 46 yrs female @ 5'8" and an embarrassing 230 lbs with a semi-bad back. #1 - my back was HAPPY enough that it only complained a little bit about not having it's awesome mattress back home! There was plenty of room for me AND my small 10 lb chihuahua. The 1st night, I woke up to it sagging in the middle, but it was just how new PVC stretches at first. Didn't have to get up, just groggily fumbled to turn on the pump and turned it off when it felt comfy again. Slept on it 2 more nights and didn't have to do anything but sleep. My son is 24 yrs, 6'4" tall, about 230 lbs of pure lean muscle. He ALWAYS gripes about beds not being long enough. NOT THIS TIME!! He was a HAPPY CAMPER. Said he slept comfy, but had to add a little air the first night too. This is the same length as a King mattress, so he was pleasantly surprised that his feet didn't hang off. He even asked if he could borrow it the next time he goes camping! This is just common sense, but be sure to look for and remove any sharp objects (safety pins, tacks, stickers, rocks, etc). I put a blanket under mine, but my son did not - neither of us had any issues. The sides and bottom are just PVC, but the top has a nice velvet like covering. To my chagrin, my son didn't use sheets and said it was a little warm, but was glad his skin didn't stick to it when he woke up. Mine had sheets and looked like a real bed, so I didn't experience being warm like he did. We were BOTH surprised that we could sit on it like we would a chair and not sink in or fall off the edge. That was nice! The cord is a little short, so take a household extension cord with you. However, it's nice that the cord has it's own built in storage compartment. It has a built in pump. You plug it in and then turn the knob one direction to air it up and turn it the other direction to let air out. You have to put the knob in the "nuetral" or "off" position BEFORE you unplug it. If you don't, the mattress will slowly deflate. It's CLEARLY marked which way is inflate or deflate or off. It also has a separate "manual valve" that you twist open to let air out without using the pump.Deflating was EASY! Plug it in, turn knob to deflate position, and it sucks the air out like a vacuum. Tip: When the mattress starts getting flat, start helping it by straightening (like getting wrinkles out of a shirt when you put it on a table). The pump sucks out ALL the air, so it's easy to refold. And don't worry! The storage bag is sufficiently big enough that you don't have to be perfect at folding it up. The storage bag is more for containment, not high quality, so don't try to carry it by the handles.CAUTION!! Measure the area or room you are putting it in. This is the same length as a KING mattress, so be sure you have enough room. All in all, you can't go wrong with this! It's TOTALLY worth the price! Light Beige isn't the pretty, but the price is GORGEOUS. Once you put sheets an blanket on it, you won't see it anyway.NOTE: Next time, I think I'll take a thin 2" eggshell/foam mattress topper. ONLY because I think that would make the mattress just as comfy as my bed at home, but my son thought that was dumb because it didn't need it.THAT is the difference between "old folks" that like being spoiled and "young whipper-snappers" that don't need to be spoiled yet. LOL!!I must have researched and looked at 100 different mattresses. SO GLAD that I bit the bullet and bought this one. No regrets!

Two Thumbs up! Totally worth it!
I bought this Tuomico twin air mattress when I noticed my mom had gotten rid of my bed, in my old bedroom. It arrived pretty fast given that i ordered it @ 2am on Christmas day. It was packaged very well. I vacuumed and cleared out the designated space cleared it of any sharp objects. Its quite simple to layout, however i must mention the moment my fingertips touched the material, and my nostrils smelled the scent of the material I knew, I wouldn’t regret this purchase. I instantly sensed QUALITY. I was so excited when i finally plugged it in, i turn the knob of its built in air pump! Suddenly, right before my eyes it began rise into its full glory. I laid on it, and at first it was a little too stiff for my personal comfort, but the build in air pump also has a deflator so I adjusted the comfort level. One stand out feature is that when i sat on the edge of the mattress it didnt tip over. I immediately reached for the nearest pillow and throw blanket, shut off the lights and initiated a mandatory quality test nap. - 5 hrs later -. I was one happy camper! Furthermore, Once the trip was over, I deflated the mattress, and packed it up again, I placed it back into the cool tote bag it came with, and fit it into my carry on suitcase. Check it at the airport cause i didnt want to carry it around. However it survived the trip back home to chicago. For my personal comfort: I added a twin size memory foam mattress topper, now it’s perfect level comfy! I'd say Better than an actual mattress. However i just wish it didnt make so much noise when it rubs against the floor/wall/skin. I'm definitely going to purchase a bigger.

Great air mattress!
I ordered this air mattress for my son who is home from college temporarily. The price was incredibly reasonable and it comes in a compact box weighing about 10 pounds. The mattress has a built-in air compressor so you just plug it in and it fills up in about 1.5 minutes or so. The mattress we ordered is x-long (80") and it sits 19" off the ground -- this is convenient so you don't need to struggle getting out of it (not so close to the ground). The mattress is very comfortable. The only minor complaint is that is seems to lose just a bit of air after a nights' sleep -- very slight amount, but we typically re-inflate it (only takes about 10 seconds) in the morning. I would definitely purchase this again and highly recommend it!
