LOVE!
My son started Waldorf school this year in 2nd grade. His class read these books in 1st grade, but my son LOVES them even at 8yrs! In fact, me and the wife love reading them too! They are old-fashioned fun using your true imagination! Will be getting more as we read on!

Kids love!
My kids are still in that fantasy stage of life and totally love this book. The funny explanations of why and how things are may seem a little goofy to me, an adult, but the kids think it makes perfect sense. They were cracking up about the different "creatures" responsible for maintaining different aspects of the world. The kids are happy with the story, it's an age appropriate book, life is good!

More beautiful tales by Reg Down
My kids, 6 and 9, love to hear these stories at bedtime. They are magical and beautiful, like all of Reg Down's books. We are not a Waldorf schooling family, but friends who are recommended these books, and I'm so glad they did. Kids need a little innocent and magic in their lives!

Did it again!
I love all of her books, and my daughter loves Tiptoes Lightly and all of the crew. This story build the perfect amount of suspense through the book (what is that huge egg?)without it being too exciting to read before bed. The whole series of books is wholesome and speaks to a child's imagination. Perfect for Waldorf families!

This is a great tale that has my 6 year old wanting more
This is a great tale that has my 6 year old wanting more. The characters are fun and on an adventure. Great for a spring or Easter time theme reading.

Yet another wonderful book by Reg Down
We, my twins and I, absolutely love all the Tiptoes Tales! This one was no different and was perfect for the season. Thankful for the one alternative chapter option in this book offered for age appropriateness. My son and daughter are 7 and we’ve been reading these at bedtime, a couple chapters each night, for a couple years now. If we finish one without having another ready, we reread one we have! They are such a treasure! Full of beauty, magical adventures, and love.

A new Easter tale that strikes the perfect balance
Reg Down has done it again! We have read several of his Tiptoes Lightly books, and my 6 ½ year old declared it her favorite so far. The book has familiar characters (Tiptoes, Pinecone and Pepperpot the gnomes, Farmer John, Tom Nutcracker, June Berry and Ompliant). It also introduces a few new characters, including angels. The angels and the bird that hatches were introduced gently and naturally, not in a heavy-handed doctrinal way. Even if you haven't read any Tiptoes books, you could start with this one for the Easter season. It would make a great Easter basket gift, too. The book follows the short chapter, line drawing style of the other Tiptoes books. But the storyline in this book--a large, growing egg appears and hatches on Easter-- is continuous, meaning that the plot follows along building in each chapter, which is different from the initial two Tiptoes books which have a series of adventures. Another difference is that the author has presented two alternate endings that appear in separate chapters. The author handled this well by noting in italics at the beginning of these chapters the intended audience - younger (under 6) or older children. These chapters also have a story-within-the chapter approach, where the author has noted by asterisk where you could read an Easter story without the rest of the chapter (or even the book). My description of the author's efforts makes it sound more complicated than it is; when you are reading the author's notes are easily followed. I appreciated this ability to customize as this book will remain on our shelves, and my 4 year old has not yet heard the tale. I look forward to reading it again next year, or, since my daughter loves it so much, next week!
