Great scale for cats & small dogs!
The media could not be loaded. I bought this scale to monitor weight changes in my cats (I have a total of 7), specifically one senior cat who is no longer on a diet but continues to lose weight. This scale is perfect & super easy to use straight out of the box. The weighing deck is built into the stand so as long as you have a level surface (like your kitchen table) it is stable (tip proof & slide proof) and there is nothing to assemble, calibrate, test, or log into. Simply insert the pair of AA batteries that are included into its compartment, set your weight measuring option (oz, lb, or kg) depending on your preference or application and power on (Tare)! Weighing has been a breeze. Once on, wait for the display to set to zeros, add a few kitty treats, then place your cat on the surface & read the display. It can give you up to 3 decimal place accuracy depending on weight measurement option used. The weighing deck is a decent size and able to support my dog at 27.64 pounds (so small dogs & animals works fine)! *If you need to get an animal to ‘sit still’ long enough for their weight to register and they are food motivated… just add a treat or two to the deck!Recently, I have come to love having the ‘hold’ button feature. I haven’t had much occasion to use it, but learning to has been fun and it could come in handy for the pet you may need to restrain in a towel or its carrier. Anyway, this is where you would weigh the towel or cat carrier empty using ‘hold’ to freeze the weight, then weigh the cat secured in towel or the carrier, and the scale will automatically “subtract” the carrier/towel weight (hold weight) displaying only the weight of the cat. The first weight or ‘hold’ weight is the weight that is subtracted. This could come in handy for other applications and in weighing things around the house (not to exceed the 44 lb max) which is what I did originally, to test the feature.Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. The scale is modern looking, easy to use, accurate, BPA free and affordable. It’s easy to maintain as well as clean. It is also the same scale used at my pets animal hospital so I feel confident in the accuracy of the readout. It’s not big or bulky, but I don’t have the space to keep it out all the time, so when not in use I store it in its carry box in the closet. As for durability, only time will tell. As always will update of any changes. 5 Stars and I highly recommend!!!

Used for my cat - works perfect!
I got this scale to weigh my cat, and it works great. Very accurate, easy to read numbers, and simple to use. It’s stable and doesn’t scare the pet, which I really appreciate. I didn’t test it with a baby, but for pets it’s amazing. Happy with the purchase!

Great functionality for the price (compared to hospital-grade scales)
For the first month of life, gaining weight for my newborn son was proving to be a challenge. Breastfeeding, as it turns out, is a lot harder than they make it look in the movies. Concerned about how much my son was consuming directly from the breast, my wife and I rented a hospital-grade scale from a local lactation consultant for a month (they actually sell it on Amazon, it's the Medela Baby Weigh II, and it costs an eye-watering $1600 at the time of this writing). We loved the convenience and piece of mind the scale brought, but wanted a scale for ourselves. Though this isn't the highest rated or best-selling baby scale on Amazon, it has the highest precision (5 grams). When it arrived, I immediately tested it by weighing objects on the two scales. My son's beluga whale doll weighed 196 grams on the hospital-grade scale and 195 grams on the Beurer. What I presume the 5 gram precision to mean is that if an object's true weight is 197 grams (for example) it will round down to 195; if it's true weight is 198 grams, it will round up to 200 grams. So if you're using this scale to get an estimate of how much milk your child is drawing from breastfeeding, it will be off by at most 2.5 grams (or 2.5 milliliters) which for $50 is definitely good enough. You have to end up paying A LOT more to get that extra precision a hospital grade offers. The scale has a tare button, a switch on the bottom to convert the display from pounds, to ounces, to kilograms. In my usage, I just keep it on kilograms, and if I need to convert to pounds, I just multiply by 2.2. It has an auto-hold feature where if your baby is squirmy, it will wait until it is more still before locking in on the weight. This is a great feature, but I haven't tested it out too much. I'd say the ONLY feature of this scale that I think is missing from the hospital-grade scale is the ability to display the weight in both pounds and ounces. If I kept the switch set to pounds, my son might weigh 10.8 pounds on this scale, but the hospital grade scale will read 10 pounds 13.4 ounces (for example). Not a big deal, since I can do the math in my head or use google to convert, but it's handy. Also, the hospital-grade scale was designed for the breastfeeding use case so it has buttons to remember the pre-feed and post-feed weights with a third button to calculate the difference. Again, I can do this manually, but it would be a killer feature for this product. For it's accuracy, price, and ease of use, I give it 5 stars. Adding the features I mentioned above would turn it into the rare 6 star product for me.

I recommend this product
Works well, was a lifesaver when baby first came home from the hospital as I was worried about his weight gain. Also great to be able to weigh him at home instead of waiting for doctor's appointments for updates! It's GREAT to know your baby's average rate of growth as this information really helps you plan well in advance when it comes to buying clothes and diapers! However, now that my son is 27"/18 lbs, the scale is a little small for him. I have to weigh him a few times to get an accurate reading due to him moving and therefore not always having all his weight on the scale.

Good basic scale
Just right for our 17-lb terrier. The scale tares to zero easily and is solid enough that our dog was comfortable standing on it. Nice value.
