The clever design is manufactured with a square opening ensuring our universal bleed key will fit almost any radiator on the market. How to bleed a radiator? We normally need to bleed your radiators, when air becomes trapped inside of them which stops the water circulating round which in turn stops the radiator heating up. Usually this makes the heaters warm at the bottom but cold at the top. This of course means your heating system is not working as efficiently as it should which costs more money to heat a room. We recommend bleeding your radiators at least once a year. What do you need? *One of our Brass Radiator Valve Keys * A cloth or a scrap piece of fabric What to do… Step 1 - ENSURE THE FULL HEATING SYSTEM IS TURNED OFF. IT IS DANGEROUS TO BLEED A RADIATOR WHEN THE HEATING IS ON. Step 2 - Use the radiator key to turn the valve at the top of the radiator. You should hear a hissing sound. This is the trapped heat escaping. Using your cloth to catch any water that may come out. Step 3 - Retighten your valve once the hissing has stopped and only liquid comes out. Act quickly to stop any water escaping. Step 4 - Turn Central Heating Back on. Step 5 - Check pressure by checking the gauge on your boiler. Bleeding Radiators can cause pressure to drop. Step 6 - Check your radiators are now heating up properly, and the heat is evenly spread through the radiator.
