These are wonderful! Most small lamps that require small 4 watt night-light size bulbs, tend to blow the bulbs quickly. But by slightly dimming, you increase the bulb life tremendously.

I got this yesterday and installed today figured would be good for the lights on the deck. Set the mood for when me and the wife enjoy one of those cooler fall nights that are in the way. Well I used a good shrink solder connector and plugged it in right away I noticed that it did not dim so I used the dial to shut it off and turn back on well while in my hands the dam thing started to smoke and you could hear it catching fire! Soooo people my advice on this one is to stay away!
