Cordless is a game changer
I have a 1/3 acre garden and it has a lot of trees as does my neighbour's house with a huge oak leaning over my land. Equals trillions of leaves every week. So - 3 years ago I bought a Black and Decker corded blower. It works fine - powerful and does the clean up job but it required planning before I would use it. I needed to get out the blower and then the extension cord. Unravel that and plug it in. Now connect to the blower - I'd use it for a few minutes and then accidentally pull out the extension cord - plug it back in. A few more minutes then I'd realize the cord wasn't following me and see that I had gone round a tree and it was caught around it. turn off the machine, walk over and untangle the cord. Etc etc etc. I mean cleaning up the yard was a real chore and I had to clear a good 2 hours off my calendar to get the job done. Since putting it all away took a while, it certainly wasn't worth just doing half the yard and saving the rest for another day. I decided last week as I stared at all the leaves - on the grass, driveway, pathways and flower beds, that I would get a cordless blower. The Worx arrived and while I made lunch, I charged the battery. 2 hours the first time but much shorter after that. It is dead simple to connect the battery - clicks into the slot - bingo you are set. I love the ease of the cordless instrument - you can wander up and down, turn around, go behind bushes and round trees and there's no cord getting snarled up. It was certainly powerful enough for my needs. At full blast it had the same power as my corded blower and for easy tasks like driveway/pathways I did not need to use the full setting. Changing from low to high gear was a roll of the thumb over the dial. I mean it was just so user friendly. Sure, the battery ran out when I was only half way through the job but "putting it all away"just meant walk inside the shed and put the Worx down - plug in the battery. Done. Today I see the battery is fully charged and will go and finish the job. Cordless really is the way to go for me - it makes me not think about how I need to clear the leaves - I just go and do it.

Decided to spend the cash on this and upgrade from cheapie 18 volt Ryobi, and WOW what a difference!
This thing blows. Seriously. This baby is a hurricane in your hands! I have used a cheapie 18 volt Ryobi blower from Home Depot the last few years, which replaced a good old-fashioned gas powered blower that stopped working. The gas blower worked amazingly well, but I wanted something without the hassle of a gas engine. The Ryobi worked ok as a "sweeper" for the sidewalk, driveway, and patio, but certainly could not blow leaves in grass, and it took a long time just to sweep hard surfaces.I finally gave in and decided to try out this one based on it winning a Popular Mechanics blower test shootout with similar-priced units. Note that I purchased this at full price through Amazon (this is not a promotional test or biased in any way whatsoever). Now yes, this one costs double what the cheapie Home Depot 18 volt Ryobi, but you truly get what you pay for. This baby on the turbo mode requires a firm grip. It is truly about the same power as my gas unit, which is amazing to me. Sweeping the patio now takes just a few seconds compared to a couple of minutes with the Ryobi. I can now blow leaves out of rock beds and grass that the Ryobi wouldn't touch. Not a real gripe because it hasn't shut down for my large lawn yet, but the battery shows only a third left after using this unit for less than 10 minutes. But I'm able to do the work so much faster that it hasn't been a problem. But if you need to use this commercially for lots of lawns, stick with gas blowers. For normal home owners though, this baby should more than meet your needs for a blower.VERY highly recommended - love it!

Great investment!
As a first time home buyer, living at Lake Tahoe, my property is COVERED in pine straw. Now that the snow is nearly entirely melted away, I needed to get all the pine straw removed, to prevent fire hazards (and because it's the law here, due to fire concerns). At almost 60 years old, I didn't want to have to even think about raking the whole front and back yard - they're uneven terrain, strewn with boulders and rocks. And the walkway and parking pad were also covered in pine straw. Always wanted to own a leaf blower, yet didn't want the hassles of gas powered equipment. After extensive research, I bought the 56V Worx blower. I went with the 56v because I've read people complain about the lack of power from lower power units. It arrived today. Effortless to set up, 90 minutes to charge the battery.Went out and in short order, cleared the walkway, parking pad, and my side deck. Also experimented with the pine straw on the yard. This thing is really powerful, so it kicked up a lot of dust. Yet it works really well, and it's very light-weight. So I'll buy some good goggles before I tackle the yard. While the battery doesn't last long on full power, I am okay with that - the shear physical workout just walking around, and carrying the blower (even though it's really light weight relatively speaking) took the wind out of me. (I also have a heart condition, so I need to go slow with yard work). Battery time limits mean I can't over-exert myself. And at only 90 minutes to full charge, that will work out well.

Good and Bad
I love this leaf blower, and I especially love that I don't have to mess with an electric cord and a gas leaf blower is harder for me to start. My only complaint is that on turbo speed (which I need due to 8 oak trees on one side of my house), the battery lasts 8 minutes. I did a chat with the manufacturer to see why I needed to recharge the battery so often and 8 minutes on turbo speed is normal. On turbo speed it is much more powerful than any leaf blower I've ever had. A spare battery is $129. On lower speeds it will run longer without a battery recharge. I gave it 4 stars because of its performance. I can probably get more leaves blown to the curb in 8 minutes with this than I can with my electric leaf blower. I can clear off my deck much faster with this and it does a better job. So, I would still buy it for that reason. I will probably invest in a second battery and maybe try the speed lower than turbo.
