The Beauty Soap by Cow Brand is one of the most beloved, popular beauty basics in Japan, very much like the Nivea Creme in Germany or the E45 Cream in England. The name hints at the main ingredient of the soap, milk fat, and at the same time is a word play with the Japanese word for face: kao (顔, かお) Cow Brand was founded in Kyoshinsha in 1909 and has been continuously producing soap since. Production never stopped, even when their facility (the largest soap factory in Japan) was destroyed during World War II. Cow Beauty Soap contains milk, milk-fat and squalene. The blue Cow Soap is jasmine-scented, while the red Cow Soap has a subtle rose fragrance.
