I’m impressed by the design of this product. It has a clever mechanism that uses a ball, similar to a ballpoint pen, to help release sunscreen. It also includes a sponge for distributing the product onto your skin. The concept is really smart, especially if you want to use your own sunscreen.You can somewhat control the amount of sunscreen that comes out. If you press down a little harder, the ball engages with the skin and more sunscreen is released. If you only want to spread what's already on the sponge or skin, less pressure with just the sponge works.After sitting in my pool bag for a week, a lot of the sunscreen settled down into the sponge and cap area. When I opened it again, it spilled and was messy. At that point, it was also harder to apply a thin, even layer on my skin. And I use a thicker sunscreen which I felt was less likely to slip through. I imagine a thinner sunscreen would have more settling at the base.Another thing to note is that the sponge is pretty large and difficult to use on my face. The media could not be loaded. I got it to use with ThinkKids mineral sunscreen (which is notoriously thick), and WOW—total game-changer.Application is so much easier and cleaner. The sunscreen glides on smoothly with the rollerball, and the sponge blends it in evenly without any mess. No more greasy hands or wasted product from having to wash up afterward. It also makes it way quicker to get sunscreen on my kid, which is a huge win when they’re bouncing around wanting to get in the water.I especially love that I can fill it with the sunscreen I choose (like one that scores well on ingredient apps like Yuka), rather than settling for whatever spray is convenient.Cleaning and refilling is simple, and it's held up great so far. This is a great add to the pool bag! I love that I can add any sunscreen that I want to it! It goes on easy and rubs in as you roll. I will say that it doesn’t fully rub in though. So I still find myself using my hands a little bit but it does a bulk of the work and the kids have not complained at all when they used to fuss at getting their face sunscreen on. The ball does get stuck sometimes but I just use my hand to release it without getting a ton of sunscreen on my hand. Easy to throw in the bag. My older kids like to do it themselves. Reapplying is so easy. I will say I’ve only used it at the pool so have not dealt with sand yet so cannot speak to beach use or reapplication after sand.

I would highly recommend this item. I think it works well and makes it easier putting sunscreen on my 7 month old. My hands aren’t full of sunscreen and it spreads out evenly on his body. It is hard to do on the face so I would recommend getting something else for the face. Overall, great product.
