PERFECT FOR THE BIG BIKE RIDE
I ride a cruiser and these boots are perfect for that. I can't give a true assessment of what happens if you need to stand for a while or walk any distance. I wanted to install arch support inserts but it raises my foot so that it pushes across where the strap is. I have fat Frodo feet and large calfs so I bought size 10EE. They fit perfect. I find these to be the perfect rider boot for me but if you don't want the steel toe the Chippewa Odessa model is the one you want. The leather is thick not thin like dress boots and also thicker than my military workbooks. I am really happy with this purchase and Zero buyers remorse. Well worth the money spent.

Quality as you'd expect !
Fantastic quality boots. Only neg is the inside sole is pretty hard and I needed to ad a cushioned inner sole. They are a fairly generous fit, but the added inner sole will take care of that.

None better.
Best boots I've found, and I looked for a long time! I bought 13 wide, which is what I got; great fit. Calf was a good fit too; all other boots in this style were huge! Excellent construction and materials; these will last a long, long time.

Good Boots, a Tad Expensive
A good boot, though fit and finish leave something to be desired. I bought my first pair of Chippewa engineer boots in the early eighties, and so I looked forward to receiving these.Like my first pair, the boots are comfortable (with the addition of an innersole) and the steel toe is unobtrusive. It would have been nice to see and try these on prior to ordering, alas there is no dealer nearby. As with anything purchased on line one takes ones chances. As the fit was sloppy, and my only issue at first, I decided to keep them, wear thick socks, and avoid hiking and marathons.Soon enough other flaws began to catch my eye. The quality of the leather is questionable, the instep straps are much too thin which causes the buckle to twist, and in many places the line of the stitching does not match the line of the cut at all.It seems to me that when one buys something on line, with the likely hassle of returning or replacing it for one reason or another, the cost of shipping etc., then the price should be significantly less than in a retail store where overhead and so forth add to the cost.Once again, the boots are rugged, and will likely last for some time. If I had not already owned a pair, which I had purchased through a catalogue from the machine shop in which I worked, there would have been nothing to compare them with. As it is, there is still no comparison. The quality has slipped noticeably.

they need thick socks but they are easy to get on and take off
A little sloppy, they need thick socks but they are easy to get on and take off. Very well made. A "work" boot, so nthey don't shine up very well, but they're not meant to. I half soled and heeled them immediately, so they'll last for many years. Well worth the money.

he is extremely pleased. These boots replace a pair that he has ...
I bought these for my husband. He wears them when he rides his motorcycle and just loves them. Granted, they need to be "broken in", but, he is extremely pleased. These boots replace a pair that he has had for over 30 years.
