I brought it since, i had laptop with only two usb-C ports.I now am able to attach my HDMI TV as a second big screen.and use the normal USB port for data transfer.Did not need the vga. But maybe old monitor or TV can use.Works just fine for me.

Works as it should 5 stars
Works perfectly as it should. I have an old dell monitor that has that weird shaped port that’s blue but this converted my Mac ubs-c to whatever that was perfectly.

Can only provide extended desktop for single monitor
Good adapter, and worked for either HDMI or VGA for me. However, you can only create one extended display for your desktop using the adapter . If you plug multiple monitors to the adapter (ex: separate VGA and HDMI monitors at same time) they will all have the same image, either using as mirrored or extended desktop displays for your laptop. If you want multiple extended displays you’ll need to either use an actual docking station or bypass the adapter and run one of your laptop output ports directly to the second external monitor. The USB port on the adapter did not seem to pass power through to charge my iPad, although it worked fine for my Jabra headset to make one less cord that I have to plug into my laptop.
