Another Great Armitron
This is the 7th Armitron in my collection of cheap watches and I really like it. Love the big, easy-to-read numbers and the relative ease in setting it up. Took me a minute to figure how to turn on the hourly chime(cycle through the alarms in alarm mode with the bottom right pusher until it shows ":00" then use the top right pusher to turn on the "bell" chime icon). While I like Casio(own 4) & Timex, I feel like Armitrons are overlooked or don't get the same respect. This 40/8252BLK is actually is more comfortable to wear than my Casio Royale. Armitron makes a great watch!

Great replacement choice!
This is my first Armitron watch after having had a couple Freestyle Shark digital watches. The Freestyle watches were fine, but the bands kept breaking. Since I could find no replacement bands I would have had to buy entirely new watches, so decided to try Armitron instead. Am I glad I did! This model 408252BLK is really great - the display numbers/letters are large and easy to read due to the great contrast with the background, the styling suits an older adult male (I bought a different Armitron for my 12-year-old grandson), the control buttons are fairly easy to master for the time/day/date/stopwatch features that I use. All in all, I find this to be a very functional, useful and stylish watch and an outstanding value at $23. I looked at some Casio and Timex watches, but didn't like the styling and face readability as much as the Armitron products and those brands cost more.Regardless of what brand you choose, I would suggest you pay attention to the face size - some of today's watches are so big it's like strapping a hubcap to your wrist! I'm a big guy, but don't think I would want one any bigger than this model at 47mm.Since this Armitron is still new, reliability remains unknown, but so far I would highly recommend.

Good, big watch
I have only been wearing this watch for about a week, so anything I have to say is tentative. So far, though, it has been a perfectly serviceable wristwatch. It's clear and easy to read, in part because the face of this watch is huge. I didn't expect that. Somehow it's not uncomfortable or overly heavy despite the size. My puny wrists require me to use the tightest hole in the band, which is easy to fasten. I have no idea what the little blinking sliced orange in the upper right corner is supposed to mean, but it goes through a strange pattern that helps bide time in traffic. This watch has a bunch of time-related features, out of which I have only used the one alarm. The others are probably useful to somebody else. The buttons feel perfect, not too hard or easy to press. The glass (or plastic?) face is recessed in the frame, so wiping it off is slightly more challenging than with my previous watch that was flush. Not a big deal, though, and I think this one will be less likely to get scuffed because of that.

Exactly as pictured.
Nothing fancy to review... its a watch. Its thin enough to where it doesnt look like you are wearing a sundial, but also hefty enough that if you are a big guy like me, it looks like it belongs. For layman's scale, the band is about as wide as a standard construction tape measure, and the face is about the size of a table-spoon. So again, its on the big side, but not too big. Small frame people may not dig on this though. The light up function is a little dull, but it is readable. The timer and alarms work just fine. Nothing fancy, but nothing is wrong. Its an alarm. This thing does come with two different alarms. The timer is a timer. As for the water proofing goes, I have no idea. I havent tested that because I dont want to run the risk of it failing and me having to return this and get another watch. Honestly I am avoiding the potential hassle. So its anybodys guess. But for the money, the function and aesthetic of this watch are awesome.

Nice beater watch
Well for starters, it's easy to read in bright daylight, which should be something you want in a watch. It has a metal buckle opposed to plastic. Fits comfortble on my wrist. It's a nice looking watch, if that matters. I had a difficult time setting it. The instruction book it came with might be good for a mouse, otherwise it is way, way to small to read. I went online for instuctions. All the instructions I could find were for all the Armitron digital watches, not this model. I played with it for about half an hour. Managed to set everything set accept the day of week. Messed with it somemore and managed to get the day of week, but I don't know how. I really did not need this watch. I have a two year old Casio illuminator, which really did not need to be replaced. I guess in my boring life I enjoy ordering stuff from Amazon and waiting for it to be delivered. But if you need an inexpensive digital watch, this might be your huckeberry.

Gets the job done, with a couple extras.
Update 6/20/14: Amazon description now says this watch has moon phase. It does not. What looks like moon phase is a counter. Docking a waning crescent. Still a good sport watch. Battery life has been excellent.Original Review: The selling point on this watch is the illumination, which is great. Only the numbers/letters light up. I assumed the graphic was moon phase when I bought it, but it's not. The description was correct, I just assumed based on the visuals.Has all your typical features, stop watch, countdown timer and one alarm. Extras include a second time zone and a pacer. The pacer allows you to set a pace while walking or running. Choices include 10, 20, 30, 40, 60, 80, 120, 160, 240, 320 per minute and the watch will beep to help you set that pace.Build quality is what you would expect at this price point. It's made of plastic and should be a tough watch for sports. The band is comfortable and the watch looks nice for a sports watch.I'll update this review to update you if it has any issues.I paired this watch with an Armitron 20/4815 to wear on nicer occasions. Really impressed with that watch as well. For the price and features, Armitron is tough to beat.
