Noz2Noz Pet Suite Multi-Use Pet Kennel, Double Door, 23-Inch

Roughly 5 years ago, I purchased a N2N double door pet kennel for my cat. Well we are now adding an addition to our furry family and since the last N2N was so great, I figured why not get another one just like it. I love the top access because it allows me to put my feisty feline in the carrier through the top and keep him in there even if he doesn't really want to go in there at that particular time. Just add a little blanket or towel on the bottom for comfort and to prevent sliding and you're good to go. The ease of accessing your furr baby through the front or top is a wonderful convenience. Another great thing about these carriers is that you can open the access gates from both sides or remove them both entirely if needed. Of course, the down side of this is that it can be difficult to get back on if you take it off completely. Well, I loved the last one so much that I went in search of one just like it and after looking literally everywhere I could think of (I can't believe I didn't try the amazing Amazon.com first...ugh!) I came here and lo and behold the carrier I've been searching for, though not in the greatest selection of colors anymore. I was hoping for a pink one for my new addition who is a female feline to go with my blue one that was purchased for my male cat. However, beggars can't be choosers so I was happy to purchase this one. Shipping was super fast and it arrived yesterday. I put it together which was quick and easy. No one got hurt and I didn't feel the urge to throw anything (nice!). When I compared it to my older one, I did notice a significant and noticeable difference in quality and weight. The new one is lighter and though you would think this would be a good thing, it kind of feels a little less secure. I put my 13lb cat in the carrier and it seems to work just like the old one. If anything changes I will update my review, but it seems to be great so far and my old one is holding together perfectly 5 years later.

I've compared other kennels at a mid range price and this one was perfect because of the locking system. The other kennels in the same price range have snap locks. And, the snap lock types are not dependable. Sometimes they won't snap shut (this happened when sampling other types in a store and even the store personnel could not snap it shut) and sometimes they come unsnapped while in use. The sliding locks on this kennel are easy to close and they stay closed. It also comes with 2 extra Velcro ties that can be used to secure the kennel on either side to something else and which also is an additional security that holds the top to the bottom. I have a 16 lb. Dachshund/Chihuahua mix and the 26" kennel was perfect. I had a smaller kennel previously but it was too small for her to turn around. I assume this is approved for airline use because it has an airline symbol on the side. But, to be sure you'd have to contact the manufacturer. The only thing missing that the others have is the small receptacle on the top to hold snacks or water cup and it doesn't have a seat belt latch on the top. But these are things I did not need. I recommend this kennel over others in the same price range.

So, a carrier is a carrier is a carrier? This assembles easily, and can just as easily be disassembled for storage. Yay.I like that the door "latch" is operated from the top, and you can open from either the left or the right.However, the bottom of the door tends to close either under or over the plastic threshold, and care must be taken to ensure the door has latched securely through the bottom hole. If you are in a rush and might forget to double-check the door, maybe look for a more fool-proof carrier.

I have been looking at different types of top-loading carriers since they stopped making the one I liked. I bought this one and the Petmate Two Door 24 inch to try.This one has strange latches which seem very user-friendly because of the large knobs, but there is a serious flaw in the design of the front door.The door secures with the two knobs spring-loaded so you can open the door from either the left or right side. The knobs sit on top of two protrusions in the top of the carrier to secure them. When there is an animal in the carrier AND the carrier is being carried, the set up is secure. However, if the carrier is sitting on a surface (no weight of the animal inside pulling downwards) and you put any weight on top of the carrier (doesn't take much) and it presses down that top even a little bit, those knobs are holding on to almost nothing and the door can easily be pushed open from the top.This carrier is supposed to be rated for airline use. Well, we all know how airlines stack carriers one on top of another - this is a recipe for disaster with this carrier! If you own this carrier and are using for air travel, please, please, please secure it with zip ties all around. Also, if you're using a seatbelt to secure this carrier in a vehicle, make sure that the lap belt goes around the front door to hold it together.If you're thinking of buying this carrier, think again. You're much better off with the Petmate Two Door. It's not as easy on the fingers, but it's a lot more secure than this one.
