Brilliant LED dimming capabilities
Let me just start off by saying I’m a professional lighting control engineer, so I’m all too familiar with the flickering of LED’s when dimming them. I never usually leave reviews, but if this can be of help to anyone then it’s worth writing.I was looking for a smart dimmer for a new pendant chandelier in my house, something to integrate with the ecosystem of smart products I already have - but that could also have a physical switch station for the wife or guests.I first purchased a touch dimmer by another brand - which flickered and flashed anything I attached to it. I tested this with all manner of LED loads and load adapters and nothing settled it down, so back it went. That bad experience was replaced with this product, which I bench tested before installation. This managed to dim a single 7W squirrel cage LED lamp with a more than adequate range. Once connected to 3 of these7W lamps it’s dimming became even smoother.Installation does need a neutral, and some space. I got it into a 35mm pattress with minimal difficulty, but I did have the added height of over plaster which added another 5mm or so.Set up was also easy, the device goes straight into pairing mode when first powered. You need wifi AND Bluetooth on, which allows smart life to use its new auto finding function. The device popped up to be added without any searching or anything. Putting the device back into pairing mode requires a steady 5 pushes on the reset switch you have attached. If you are using a standard light switch / rocker switch, this translates to 10 switches. I think that may be where some people are getting confused. The type of switch this uses is a reset / non latching / retractive / press switch. Any of these terms will get you to the same thing. They are readily available at Screwfix ect as they are a standard item for doorbells or electric gate/ garage door contacts / press to exit door systems in the UK.All in all, a very impressive product for the money. I will be buying more of these.

You are going to struggle with these in a switch back box
These little modules are great if you have the room to put them in the ceiling above a downlight, a ceiling rose may be harder as once you make a hole big enough to fit this in the ceiling you might struggle to refit your light fitting.I recently rewired my house and wired switch wires back to a central location as I knew I wanted to have a smart switch that would work along side my day to day switches. The fact that these switches know the status of the light is fantastic, for example if the light is on and you tell alexa to turn the light on it doesnt change anything and visa versa if it is off.Other devices don't know the status of the light, so if the light is on and you tell it to turn the light on it actually turns the light off, which is annoying, but this module has over come that by using the S1 input, it is always monitoring the status of the lights.Connecting to Alexa was really easy, I have loads of smart devices so my wifi is already set up to accept 2.4Ghz devices. If this is your first smart device you will want to watch a Youtube video to make sure you can set this up on your router first.Once you know that you can do that and you are confident you have the correct cables in place using the handy wiring diagram above, crack on and order one. I did, now I have two and am about to place another order for a further 6. This really makes all your normal lights smart. I just wish it could dim the lights as well.

Promising but disappointing because of range and functionality
The device is small enough to go in a 35mm deep back box and less and there won't be enough room for back of switch and wiring.I tried for hours to get working, managed to reset it but as I didn't have a switch needed to use the mains fuse as this device lacks a manual reset button. It didn't have an indicator to show it was ready to pair as the instructions suggested.Couldn't get it to connect to my wireless hub which is in a different room. Tested connecting the device to my mobile WiFi access point which worked. As I moved the access point to another room it stopped connecting. Looks like there is a range issue when connecting to the WiFi.Not sure if this is the same for other people, or if they WiFi router is in the same room or not separated by a brick wall but given my other devices can connect its disappointing that this does not connect.

Dual wifi dimmer works perfectly with dimmable LED bulbs
A lot of dimmers cause flickering at low brightness even with dimmable LED bulbs. These utilise leading edge dimming which works best for LED dimmable bulbs.Great dimming and no flicker!
