Great model for intermediate builders
I didn’t expect this model to be a super easy build when I bought it. The nacelles for excelsior class ships are really long, so I was prepared for getting the pylons to be a haste in itself. I had some trouble keeping it intact during the glueing, and I imagine that may be an issue with everyone who gets it, but the outcome was definitely worth the effort.I got the Aztec decal set with this model, and it definitely made it look much nicer. I only wish a chose a darker paint for the base color. All in all, it’s a great model, I just wish there were larger contact points for glueing it all together.

It is a fun project.
It's not the Enterprise B model, but the Excelsior. It does have the decals and is pretty good scale. I've enjoyed working on it. It is good quality, I would recommend this to any trekkie that would like to their collection.

OK repop of old AMT kit with better details but still not a favorite design
OK repop of old AMT kit with Round 2 assistance. Not a fan of the general design which is like Enterprise E in many ways. Nacelles are tricky to get set on pylons and strongbacks are OK . Detailing is crisper and recessed panel lines make a better tooling. 47 parts make up the kit in crisp white styrene and clear parts. Many options in standard decals and Aztec is available at cost. Nice to have NX or NCC options and specific details for each, note impulse crystals and shuttle bay options too. Overall nice hero ship with plenty of possibilities. What is the difference between the Enterprise B and the NCCC 2000?

Excellent service
I received my purchase today and it was packaged very well. The model box was perfect. A very nice change and I look forward to the build.

Ok Model Poor instructions
I have made three of these models over each of the three times in my life time this ,item was released . There still a few issues with the model when attaching the nacelle pilon to the ships body the hole ends to small. It seems AMT deliberately left out half the decals of the decal sheet, so you would have to buy the upgrade sheet. The last two times I had built this model, it came with the decals of the blue triangle part on the bottom forward of the ship and decals for the blue area of the saucer. One thing I don't like they remodel the saucer to have more detail this includes the phaser ports previous versions just had a little flat surface so you can use the decal. The problem being the did not change the phaser decal. To put them on you have to completely sand off the phaser ports. They did not give this model the same treatment they gave the enterprise refit 1/537. Where that model got its phaser decal with holes to go over the molded parts so you could easily put them over the molded plastic. I can not recommend picking this up do to the fact the decal sheet has been reduced and is still pain to put on. The same problem I had when putting this together the previous times still remain. I highly recommend picking up the enterprise refit 1/537. As it is a larger model and it decal sheet has most of the ships decals except for the Aztec pattern.
