Q: What are the measurements for the mini 9.0L? I am asking because the iPad is 10-11 inches.

Not the seller but yes it will fit an iPad that size.

The back pack is actually pretty big, I keep my laptop, iPad, 4 3subject notebooks, a planner and books in it with room. It also doesn’t feel like it’s about to break with all of that weight. And it has nice back support I think it would be perfect for traveling and school.

Q: Does this have side pockets for a coffee mug holder?

No side pockets , no hidden key ring and no fleece lining inaccurate website description, disappointing

Q: Can the straps be shortened enough to fit a preschooler?

Yes straps can be adjusted. But this backpack is the xlg. I recommend you get a smaller size
