Needed for pandemic shopping during a heat wave (updated)
This is actually my second XL Flip Box. I've had the original XL and Lg sized flip boxes for years and have always loved them. Recent events has me buying much more during the rare times I venture out for supplies and I realized I needed a 2nd XL-sized Flip Box while shopping during 90+ degree weather. Having a box-shaped cooler is the best for making sure stuff doesn't move around and get squished in transit, and these easily collapse flat when not in use. Not to mention how light they are so you can bring the whole box into the house without emptying it. If the box is mostly filled, my frozen food stuffs stay frozen even after stopping at several other stores before going home. Do not forcefully overstuff though. I did that with my old XL box and one of the parts that lock into place tore. I fixed it with a bit of duct tape and am still using the box to this day.Update - The old one irreparably broke. Note - do not attempt to pick up a loaded box with the cover panels open. The sides may come unlocked and in my case, one side rips off and everything falls. I did order another one because they do work and are very convenient. You just have to take a little extra care and not do certain things (like force-fit something into it or carry while loaded and the lid panels are open).

Packed Up
You can't go wrong with these coolers. I bought 2 XL and they worked perfect for the need to travel. Plenty of room for a 2 half hams in one container, and 2 smoked 15 lb turkeys in the other. I was able to put a med container of frozen turkey broth in one and put 3 containers of Cool Whip in them. Celery went in, butter, and plenty more of anything that was cold. I made sure I followed what they said in packing instructions, by filling up the air space in these containers. My trip was a 5 hour one and when I got to my destination the ham, turkey, and everything else felt like it was just taken out of the fridge, the Cool Whip was still frozen and the turkey broth was also. I truly was amazed with this product and was very, very skeptical in buying it. I read every comment from the pros to the cons about this item and I can say without a doubt that it worked for me.. I will now carry these in my car for shorter trips for keeping things cold. When summertime comes I will put these to the ultimate test for keeping your items cold. I have been eyeing a smaller version for keeping my lunch cool at work.

Does the job!
I wanted to wait to review this product until I had put it to the test. I've used it mostly when buying groceries and returning home in a half hour or so, so I wasn't able to tell if it really works at keeping things cold.Last weekend, I finally tested it... unintentionally. I had used it to take some food to a cookout, but I had bought almond milk to take home and left it in the insulation box by itself. Not only that, but the insulation box was also sitting in direct sunlight. When I realized the almond milk was in the cooler several hours later, it was still chilled. I won't say it was as cold as it was coming out of the supermarket, but it was not room temperature or hotter. I was amazed! If the cooler had been filled (which is what the manufacturer recommends for optimum effectiveness), I'm sure the almond milk would have been colder. The design of this insulation box is ingenious. I love how it folds down. It is very lightweight. My only concern is that it doesn't seem that sturdy. I try to treat it gently when I use it. If the manufacturer could figure out a way to make it sturdier, it would be a perfect product. That being said, I really like this product. I will be buying one or two more to give as gifts!

Extremely convenient, we keep one in the car all the time.
We love these collapsible coolers. We have both the XL and the regular size, we keep them in the back of our cars and use them when shopping at the large warehouse stores so we can bring cold foods home without worry. We have also use them to transport hot foods to grandma’s house for holiday meals. Of course we made sure to put a hot pad down in the bottom and a towel around it just in case the piping hot casserole dish might melt the foam. It worked great!Obviously these are not designed to hold melting ice, it’s a collapsible box after all so don’t use it in that way and you won’t be disappointed like some other reviewer‘s.The insulation works well, the idea that it collapses flat is absolutely fantastic and that is what brings the greatest value. We’ve had one of these for several years and it has held up well. These are a great gift idea; we have given them to our adult children, to our parents etc.

Portable Ice Chest? Who Knew!!
Very cool concept that actually works. Breaks down well for compact storage needs between uses but is an excellent insulator when in use, too. Would not put a ton of weight on it but it will easily stand up to light weight bags or boxes if need be. Size accommodates good amount of goods and won't buckle/flex much or at all from the weight of what's in it. Will use this over and over again.

Stays incredibly cold
I bought 3 of these, small (classic), large and extra large. It's a bit early still for picnic weather, but I wanted to test them. They are easy to open up and fit together, and easy to fold back flat. They are very light weight. They don't seem to be air tight or water proof, so I would recommend only bagged ice or ice packs. I opened up the smaller one and put in enough ice packs to cover the bottom. The instructions do say that the more full the cooler, the longer it will stay cold, but I didn't fill it up, just one layer of packs on the bottom. We checked it after 5 hours and the packs were still rock hard. Then I forgot about it. Next morning, after 22 hours, the packs were still mostly frozen, only liquid around the edges. Granted I don't heat my house very warm in the winter, but it was about 65 degrees. I will update after I have used them for real.
