Much better than first edition
Has some interesting information about color in quilting and about transparency effects. Definitely get this edition, it has much more content, also some interesting looking quilt projects.

Great book, poorly printed
This does not translate well to Print to Order format. Author wrote a very good book about color, and this book looks like it was printed with mud. Get the digital version.

Excellent Resource
This book is easy to read and includes some beautiful photos of interesting quilts.I’ve been quilting a long time and even dying my own fabric for a few years. I’ve used cyan and fuchsia dyes to get colors I liked better: having no idea 🤷🏼♀️ why they worked so well. This book helps me to understand the reasons why some colors work in a quilt and some don’t.Wish I had found this book a long time ago!

Does not include fabric swatches
This is a very good book. However, on the back cover it says "includes swatches of tints, shades and tones for all 24 colors" and the book does not come with swatches! At first I thought it was a problem with Amazon not sending me the swatches. Amazon worked with me to try to figure it out, and I really appreciate their effort. Ultimately I contacted the publisher and asked them. They said "The word swatch in this case refers to the printed on the page fabric swatches contained within the book - like a paint swatch on a paint chip."Indeed, throughout the book, there are photos of fabric. However, those are not swatches (if we were talking about paint, you could make that argument, but this is a book about fabric, so if you tell me to expect swatches, I expect fabric.) If having actual fabric swatches is important to you, be warned.I have the first edition of the book, and the second edition is expanded, with lots more photos, quilt examples, etc. and it really is a good book. However, without the swatches there just isn't enough new material (pun intended) to justify buying it.So. Four stars for the book. Two stars for the misleading promise of swatches.

Best Color Study book
I have the original and the Second Edition. It is the most thorough, clear book on the market. I have used several other color study books to work in a group, and been disappointed by he lack of thoroughness, inadequate color range study, poor quality printing, and lack of pictures of excellent award winning work to demonstrate what can be done.Thank you John Wolfrom for helping me understand color

One of the better books on color choice
I found the book to be helpful and interesting. I've always worked spontaneously and explored colors by 'putting together what I liked'. This book showed me I have great color instincts... most of the time. Some of my color choices were 'not the best' according to the book. I'm challenging myself to work outside my comfort zone and this book is helping me to do that.I think it's worth the price and it's a good reference book to read over and over.Recommend!

Not Just For Quilters
This is a wonderful book for anyone who is interested in color theory. I am a rug hooker and I learned a great deal about color from this author. She explains color simply in a way that any one interested in the subject can understand. This book has certainly helped me use color better in my rugs. I will refer to it again and again.

One of the best
I rarely buy a book twice (hard copy and Kindle) but this is one of the best. Wonderful inspiration for a budding quilter studying Creative Stitch and Patchwork (formerly City & Guilds). I started with a Kindle copy, wonderful to have on the go, and I have now ordered a hard copy to dwell on at home. I am totally in tune with Joen Wolfrom's style - feels like home.

Amazing book on colour theory
I bought this book after reading some references to it in Cindy Grisdela's book (which is great by the way). My expectations were more than met! This is an absolutely brilliant book on colour theory, it is very clear and lovely to read, with lots of examples of quilts that illustrate the various theories.
