NECA Sweeney Todd Razor with Pouch Prop Replica

I ordered this prop razor for my halloween costume, thinking I'd end up buying the $4-$10 "replicas" I've seen elsewhere. I'm glad I chose to pay a premium for this instead. :)First off, I don't know how exactly these are being produced, but mine came in a nicely decorated cardboard knife box, listing it as an "Official Replica from the Original Prop" and limited to a run of 6000. Somehow I don't think that's the case, but the movie's official logo, etc were plastered everywhere on the box, and it looked really slick, so maybe I got lucky. Anyway, the razor itself was in a red velvet drawstring pouch that not only looks cool but serves as a nice impromptu polishing cloth if you get fingerprints on the blade (which you will).On the subject of the blade, the picture currently on the page here does NOT do this "razor" justice. The blade is shiny, almost mirror-like, just like the film (a little Brasso Multi Purpose Metal Polish or similar would improve it even more!) and is nicely blunted, not even close to sharp. This is great for me, because I was worried about having to it grind down to allow for posing/knifeplay, but thankfully I won't have to. It LOOKS dangerous, but is perfectly safe (assuming you get the same model I did).The handle is nicely distressed and detailed. It's not film-perfect, but close enough that no-one will notice. The hinge started out rather stiff, and the blade sometimes gets "stuck" closed on the handle, but after a little working it's loose enough to open with one hand and brandish around impressively. Durability wise, I think I'm going to have this for several years or longer, no problem. This is no cheap trinket, and it feels exceptionally solid. Not chased silver, but we can't have everything, right?Overall, this is an excellent purchase, and though not a toy, any serious Sweeney Todd film fan/cosplayer should get one. Definitely recommended.

I may never get to know if this item is nice or not - 10 days after ordering and I still have not heard from the seller if it has even shipped. The seller info in the description says "Replica Props" but the actual seller seems to be Animewild - and I'll tell you, their customer service does not exist! I have to wait 2 more days before filing a claim with Amazon but still, a seller that does not respond to emails, does not ship - even by the expected delivery date, and leaves the buyer wondering if the item will ever arrive? ANIMEWILD - you fail! Buyer beware, be careful who you actually place your order through.

It's inspired by, but much less detailed and elegant than the movie's original. It's still very nice though.The rivet popped out the first day, luckily I know how to replace that, but come on, for the price the rivets should be good.Otherwise a very nice object, and it's hard to find a straight razor dull enough that you can safely slit throats and freak people out without worrying about injury! :)(to be clear, what I'm saying is that this is NOT a dangerous toy in any way, but it looks like one, and that makes it fun!)

First of all this is a bad ass piece it's huge heavy and looks almost identical to the movie prop but it is just that a movie prop. It is not sharp (movie prop) except the very point of it and it has a bit of weight to it. Anyways my wife loved it the only reason I put 4 stars is my shipping was a little slow I'm pretty sure I got next day shipping and it took about 4 days but I may be wrong about that. Regardless exelent gift if you know anybody who is a huge fan of this movie or Mr.Depp.

Fairly priced, excellent service and an absolutely top-quality collectible!!! Having actually performed the lead role in a terrific production some years ago, as I slipped this beautiful, all-metal precision crafted "dead"-accurate replica from its blood-red velvet bag, I sang "My Friend" with the added emotional resonance of holding, and seeing this diabolically amazing prop again after so many years ... because right there in my hands again was the very same, ethereally elegant sculpted handle ... and the necessarily huge, perfectly mirror-bright blade, brilliantly designed optically to constantly ambush-flash almost every audience member every night-- especially at that plot-pivotal, heart-stopping dramatic moment when I howled "... and I'm full of joy!!!", and stabbed the sky with the blade ... subtly rotating it back and forth to flash as much of the audience as I could. Talk about your "killer effect!!!" This gem is an absolute must-have!!!

I ordered from a merchant (heartland-great-deals). It sold for a fantastic price, and arrived very fast in brand new condition as described, but what I opened was a very real razor (meaning it is sharpened. It is about as sharp as a good pocket knife). It is a stainless "surgical steel" blade and a handle that is identical to the one used in the movie. As cool as this is, buyer should be aware that they may not be buying a toy or a harmless prop. It could be that different merchants are selling different things (mine didn't come with the red velvet bag seen in the picture, for example, but in a cardboard knife box), but all the same I still got a real razor. Not really what I expected, but I love it. It makes a great collector's piece.

I love this razor it has a great heft to it and is shiney it is also sharp! Be verry careful and it didn't come in a pouch like the picture an the box was just white but still verry nice! Great for cosplay and a great collectors piece seems a little fragile at the hinge
