Tests μS/cm (A measurement of conductivity). An indirect measurement of total dissolved solids like metals, minerals and salts. And measures PPM (Parts per million of very dilute concentrations of substances in water. PPM substances depend on what type of water you are testing but in this case measures TDS (Total dissolved solids) in drinking water.I know that it works accurately because you can compare your readings to water quality reports for your local water through EPA or Utility District Water Reports online. Interestingly, the claims made by our City and County exactly matched the reading range on this device. We have the second cleaest drinking water in the U.S. according to the EPA. This verifies the readings as reported are accurate.You can ignore the color coded lights, red does not mean bad water. Compare that to the EPA and other reports. It will often show red even in perfectly clean water. The readings are good and well within the range to claim it is an accurate tool. Just ignore the red and green lights.On a side note we also use a Primo water dispenser. Tested that water and it comes in at 3 PPM. You cannot get cleaner water.

This is a very reliable and accurate TDS meter for the price. I bought this TDS meter in Jan 2023. I would replace it with the same when needed! The only thing I have had to do is replace the battery and a couple of times... Calibrate it! (A very important feature, that is NOT mentioned in the description, and is important to many shoppers). YES! It "CAN" be calibrated!!! I have included the instructions in a picture! I don't know why the manufacturer wouldn't mention this in their description. It is important to many people. I hope this helps you make a better decision.

Tester is OK. Instructions in proper English would help.

Bought this water quality gauge to test my tap water and the water coming from water filter I used. I wanted to see if there was a need for a different water filter. Well there was, I ended up buying the culligan zerowater that has it's own gauge attached to the unit. I still use this gauge to make sure the other gauge is reading correctly.

It seemed to work great and easy to use. I was very happy that there was no calibrating to do. I have bought some ph strips to check the ph level in the water. To me it seemed easier to use test strips and check the color of the test strips with the color on a chart. Then to always keep recalibrating a electronic tester. I hope I am right.

It’s accurate, fits in your pocket, great tool for ppm and temperature checks, and affordable. I would recommend everyone has any tools that can identify what you are drinking and eating. Most times we really don’t know what we are exactly drinking or eating, at least this is one step, this temp meter 3 in 1, the beginning of awareness. I install RO systems and water softeners and this tool goes from contracting to personal use. Buy it and keep it!!

Great product. It's my second purchase. Used it to test the water at Walmart before I buy the water. Sometimes the water quality at Walmart was not good ... not even as good as the running water after a heavy downfall on our land .... and so we didn't buy the Walmart water after we use this product to test the water quality.

Product works as it should although it is out of calibration and there is no way to recalibrate! I bought solution ec solution to check accuracy and it was off out of the box! Not sure why but deff off!
