These is a very high quality set. I’ve bought multiple sets of clippers over the years, most recently a cheaper generic brand. On those clippers the rechargeable battery lasted less than an hour, the attachments only had levels 1-6, and the edges of the blades were so sharp that when used directly on skin they’d draw blood if you weren’t really careful. These clippers, the battery easily lasts longer than an hour and up to 2, the attachments include 0.5 and 1.5 (never seen that before but it’s nice to have!), plus all 1-8 levels, and the clipper blades are nice and smooth so they can easily be used directly on skin for a zero without any discomfort or bloodletting. This is easily the nicest set I’ve ever had and I wish I’d gotten something like this from the beginning.

Update: July 2025The clippers are still working great. The only thing that could be improved is if it had a push down power button. To turn on the clippers you have to pull down the lever on the side which has a good amount of resistance to it, it can be hard to flip it on when you’re maneuvering your arm behind your head for self haircuts.Great quality clippers though everything considered, I’ve owned them for about 2 years now, probably more and I’ve cut my own hair about 10 times.__________________________________Previous Review: 2024I spent around $60 for these clippers, and I’ve cut my own hair maybe 4 or 5 times. It’s been well worth the money considering how expensive haircuts are, at least here in California, $20 the cheapest but barber shops are like $40+. It’s paid for itself already. Cutting your own hair is hard but even then anyone can just put on a 4 or 6 guard and shave their whole head for an easy haircut.They’re great clippers, the charge lasts a long while and it has this matte material around it which helps you get a solid grip. I’ve had mine for over a year already, and it still works great.

My clippers were a nice upgrade in terms of quality compared to my prior brand. Felt more ergonomic with nice weight. Motor sounds smooth and powerful. My only issue was that I have only been using 1.5mm and 2mm guards for many years and this unit includes 1.5mm and 3mm. I emailed Wahl customer support and received a very clear and thorough email from Colleen who explained that I can achieve a 2mm length by using 1.5mm guard with the taper lever in the fully open position. Thrilled that I am able to continue to achieve same lengths as my prior clippers and that I was able to get clear and concise response from Wahl & Colleen!

Overall, this product delivers solid performance. Everything from the build quality of the tools to their functionality feels well-made and durable. It does exactly what it promises, and I’ve had no issues with how it works — a truly reliable item. However, the one downside is the holding case. Unfortunately, it’s made of very cheap, flimsy plastic that feels like it could crack or break with even light use. It doesn't match the quality of the rest of the product. While this doesn’t affect the performance of the tools themselves, it’s worth noting if you plan to carry or store them often. Still, for the price and quality of the main components, I’m happy with the purchase — just don’t expect much from the case.

I already like this better than the 5 star magic clipper that I bought a few years ago that was almost twice the price at $150. That one broke randomly as it was charging.This one is MUCH lighter and more comfortable to hold and manipulate - don't underestimate that if you are cutting your own hair. There are maybe twice the number of clippers for more accuracy and range, the features are the same and the quality is there for almost half the price. I have both and this one just feels lighter and better but with the same quality in terms of stability and precision. Plus it comes with a nice plastic case. Much better than storing it in a paper box which is what I did with my more expensive WAHL clipper.Definitely get this one for the value, variety, quality and case.
