23kg, and the boards on both sides are only used for extension, not suitable for heavy things.

Can you eat meals at couch with this?

I do. The couch must have about 3cm clearance so the bottom can slide under.

Can you paint this another colour without damaging the table at all?

I cant see why not , but personally i would take it apart first and maybe use masking tape to do a neat job on it as its a very neat looking table.
