Amazing! Every Pro should have one!
I've been using 3D software for 22 years...that's right, since the days of DOS! I work professionally with Maya, Max, XSI, Modo, Zbrush...etc. To be honest I always thought this was just a 'cool' device that would be fun to have, but not really thatessential.I was wrong. There really isn't anyway to describe the feeling of having TOTAL control to move within your 3D space, examining, checking, modeling, surfacing or framing up your creation. They say it's like holding your model in your hand. Well for me it's more like being inside my 3D space and zipping arround my model like a humming bird. I'm flying though scenes, and opening up old models just to view them with my Space Mouse! It has speeded up my work process and makes modeling a breeze. And it's brilliant for setting camera angles too!I don't have a clue how it works, to me it's just amazing. Before, using just a keyboard & mouse In my 3D apps, I had nowhere near the freedom of movement that Space Mouse now gives me. In fact, it's impossible to combine the same movements simultaneously without it.Once you use this, you will never want to be without it...guaranteed!! It's just simply amazing, and every Pro should have one!

A real joy to use
WOWI use this with sketchup / Vray.Expensive but worth it..This does not replace the mouse, its to be used with.I use it mainly to fly around the finished render to look at different angles. The ability to micro adjust the position allows you to get into corners you can't get into with a mouse.A real joy to use.Its really heavy, made from a solid steel block so feels quality and the weight stops it from moving when in use. When you first get this, if you have never used one before, it will feel odd and will be very frustrating.Do the training exercise first, it takes ten minutes but it gives you the basics really quickly.Once you have the basics its straight forward to use, very intuitive.Love this, would not be without it..M

Great for SketchUp, other applications are not as well supported you would expect.
The device itself is very well made, the company has been making these types of devices for years so know what they are doing when it comes to the design and build quality. It's weighted very nicely, but sometimes you do find yourself lifting it off the desk by mistake.I've been teaching myself SketchUp and Blender recently (mostly SketchUp). I bought the SpaceMouse after seeing some SketchUp tutorials where the presenter was using one and it made navigating in 3D look so fluid and easy. When I first received the SpaceMouse and tried to use it with SketchUp I felt like there was going to be a bit of a learning curve, however I found out that the defaults for the device settings in SketchUp was making using the SpaceMouse harder than it needed to be, after I change the setting to camera mode and locked the horizon the device was instantly a breeze to use.One thing to note about the SpaceMouse is that each application needs to specifically support it, some of this support is added directly by 3DConnexion, and other are by the software vendors themselves (there is an SDK available). One downside of this is that depending on which application you are using it with, your experience can be vastly different. For example I have already mentioned that using it to navigate with SketchUp is fantastic, however I have also tried with with Blender and Cinema 4D and the results were not quite as impressive and time is required in order to try and tweak the settings to your liking.

Very good product for 3D Drafting Programs
Works just like it should - fantastic for 3D workspaces.Excellent build quality. There are newer drivers than the ones which come with the device - this is an easy download from their website. In case anyone out there is wondering, and although I think it would be fantastic, the device does NOT support gaming as is - this is a little disappointing since it would significantly enhance the experience. This has no effect on the review as this is not something that they claim to do even though I think their audience would grow immensely if it did.In conclusion - awesome as a 3D navigator in drafting programs - increases productivity as well as experience

Excellent for design productivity.
Brought this about a year ago to use with 3D solid modelling software. Took a couple of days to get used to it (just bear with it) but from then on I have found it really useful and it has defiantly increased my productivity - using two hands instead of one is particularly good when you are constraining assemblies for example. The ability to move and manipulate around your model is impressive and particularly helpful when you are integrating/developing the model you are working on. I also use the mouse for panning, zooming and navigating in word and pdfs documents.I got one and now my colleagues use one, so yes I would recommend.

AVOID Battery dies after one year, no support offered.
Battery needs charging every 3 days, only one year after purchases (not every 2 months as manufacturer states). Never mind it comes with a 2-year warranty I hear you say? Unfortunately, neither this seller or manufacturer reply to a simple request for support. AVOID

A must have.
Wow. I was skeptical about its uses and practicality. But Damn....... I would be lost without it now. So far has been used easily with sketchup, autocad, Photoshop and 3D architecture. Lovely piece of kit.
