Perfect and made of metal
Exactly as described, I am happy with the purchase and price and construction this replaces the plastic factory original equipment so being a metal replacement it shouldn't break in the future.

Much better than the plastic version

Better than OEM
While removing the dash to replace a leaking heater core, I managed to break the original plastic shift indicator cable bracket. Not surprising for a 22 year old plastic part. I found a post on a forum about replacing the bracket with a link to the part on Amazon. This metal bracket was the perfect fit and was installed and adjusted in less than 15 minutes. Better than new and will easily outlast my truck.

MUCH BETTER PURCHASE THAN THE PLASTIC SHIFT INDICATORS
This was relatively easy to replace, about 10 min. time. I started by removing the bottom dash panel to make access easier. this was for my 2002 Ford F150. There is a small black plastic adjustment wheel you have to save off of the old bracket. I used a silver sharpie to mark the location of the wheel on the cable adjuster, this made adjusting the shifter easier when everything was back together. I had previously purchased 2 plastic brackets that were identical to the OEM one that was broke. I dicked around for a year before installing, not wanting to crawl under the dash to fix. In the meantime I came across this metal bracket. It is well made, fits perfectly, and easier than I thought to install. For me the key was removing the small panel right where your knees would be when driving. I didn't have to crawl under the dash to install and do my final adjustment. If you are procrastinating DON'T...Buy this shift indicator now You will be pleased to be able to put the shifter in "R" for reverse instead Neutral.
