Love it!
Works great! Perfect to listen to cassette tapes and easy to transfer audio from cassette to MP3.I’m recovering some spoken-word oral history recordings. The sound quality is good. Looks cute, compact size, and works well.

This little baby does everything the ad said she'd do...
I liked the speed at which it was delivered to us (we have a project we have to get into the mail yesterday!) It only took 2 days. I liked that it was easy to figure out - AND THE VIDEO THAT WAS IN THE AMAZON ADVERTISEMENT (LAST PICTURE TO THE LEFT OF ITEM DESCRIPTION) WAS EVERYTHING TO ME as I wanted to transfer files from a cassette tape to a USB drive. Even so, I had to study that tape again after I tried to make my first transfer. So here's what I noticed that other customers commented to:A. I accidentally put the a/c cord into the headphone jack. ..which made it seem like the cord didn't work. So I shifted the cord to the hole below and that was the right one. It didn't fit tightly, though.B. To record from the cassette tape to a USB (it shows almost all of the following on their video):1. First, place your USB stick into the machine on the right side. Slide the right toggle switch, second to the end, to where it says "tape/off". I tried to tape with the switch on "USB/SD" but I got nada. (i found out that button is for you to listen to what's on your USB stick.)2. Next, push the play button on top, where you want to begin, then3. Push the button on the left side of the front of the machine that says "REC" and hold it until the red light comes on, not green. You should then be able to hear the tape as it's recording.4. If you want to make an announcement midway, push the pause/play button on the left front and stop the tape with the stop button on top. Then, push REC on the front left and say what you want to say into the mic. When you're finished, push pause/play on the front left again and "play" on the top to continue your conversion.I'm sure they put all of this in the instructions, but I like to just get started. I hope that helps clarify some points. I think it plays as well as any cassette I ever had. Oh, and when you shut it to begin taping, make sure you press on the top left corner where the sticker says "close here" Otherwise you're going to have problems with the "eject" button keeping the machine open. The "next" button is for toggling between entries.Happy reminiscing!

Great for saving those old songs
This machine was really good but it didn't work well with long tapes, so I suggest that you put something you want put to mp3 on a shorter tape and I think that will make your recorder last a lot longer.

Do not purchase this defective product.
There was a very noticeable hum and other background noise recorded on the MP3 file when I converted several cassette tapes to digital format. I followed the instructions scrupulously, and tried everything I could think of to eliminate the background humming and buzzing, but eventually gave up. I wish I could recommend this product, as it looked great in theory. In actual reality, it was a complete failure. I should receive a refund. You should not purchase the product. It would be throwing away money--and time!

Nice looking cassette player with functions, but drags
It's nice looking. Lots of buttons. I was looking for Reverse and Forward buttons, and this player has them.I think, I'm not 100% sure if the tapes drag a bit. I have listened to it with and without headphones. I will pop the tapes that I listened to in my two other tape players and see if they sound the same on them.I bought this to listen to language tapes as I walk. I know I could have boughten, and I do own a smaller cassette player, but it does not have reverse. Without it, I have to take the tape out, turn it around, play it, or fast forward it, then pop it back out, pop it in and listen to it again. Reverse makes my life so much easier! I will have to find a small shoulder bag that I can place it in as I walk.I will use it over the next few weeks and see how it plays. If I see that it now drags, I'm sure that it will slow up more in time. The sound is okay for non stereo. I listened to it with head phones too, and though it's not my larger stereo Sony cassette CD player, that by the way early on ate and or stopped my tapes, it's okay. The tapes drag. It's annoying to listen to. I missed the open window to return it. So, now, it being my own fault I am stuck with it. I am usually very good in returning something on time.

So easy to use!
Easy to use! Just like a traditional tape recorder but records digitally. Plug in or use batteries.I am not a techy person at all and had no problem transferring cassette tapes of my dad’s lectures to a format that will last and easier to share and store.

Cassette mechanism weak spot
I spent hours reading and comparing units with strong FM signals, antenna, mobility, cassette player, headphone jack and AC as well as battery power only to have the cassette door with a plastic latch that does not hold the door of cassette player. I was away and did not even open the box for weeks and almost right away, the door kept opening. I got it to work on an on and off basis but even with limited use, it seem to get worse. I got it to listen daily to PBS so most of the time it use was FM radio. I was pleased with its strong signal/reception but for the price the failure of the cassette for occasional listening to audio books it proved to be such a big disappointment. All the claims of its quality and value seem to be shortsighted and I should have bought a popular brand. :-(That was my instinct but I thought I had discovered a new reliable brand with so many features. But workmanship is key to satisfaction and this radio with time and music fell short. Could you consider sending me a replacement so I can give it a deserved 2nd chance? I will promise to upgrade my review if I see the weakness was a rare processing flaw and not a routine problem. I surely did not anticipate the flaw.
