I had a Drinkmate that broke when I was changing the CO2 canister - the plastic receiving end broke off due to applying slightly too much torque when screwing it in. I tried (unsuccessfully) to repair the Drinkmate machine, and in disassembling it I realized the whole thing was really a cheap piece of crap for costing well over a hundred dollars. It's basically 5 plastic pieces and a tube. I certainly wasn't going to spend that kind of money again to replace it.Then I found this machine which costs significantly less and is essentially the same thing. Honestly the quality is at least the same, and it might even be a little better than the Drinkmate. Even the bottle looks the same. The only difference with this Spozer machine is that the bottle attaches directly to the main unit instead of being a separate head like with the Drinkmate. Fine by me. Fewer pieces to keep track of, and this doesn't seem to make any practical difference with carbonation effectiveness. Maybe it's a little harder to clean this, but I don't imagine it will be an issue. Of course, make sure you don't over tighten the CO2 canister!Obviously safety is a concern when you're dealing with pressurized equipment. But after disassembling both of these machines, I don't see why this would be any worse than the Drinkmate. Luckily, the bottles are interchangeable, so if you want, you can buy the Drinkmate branded bottles instead. Overall I'm quite happy that I went with this one.

This did not come with the CO2 canister. That is fine... I found one. The spozer only comes with one bottle. It expires. It is proprietary so no one else have anything that will work. So you will need a new soda maker in a couple years.I will say that it works well.

The SodaStream Fizzi I bought in September broke after 1 month of use. Completely unresponsive after powering up, it annoys me！！！The brand Spozer feels like a new product. It feels good at present. It can use the same CO2 cartridge as Fizzi, and it does not need electricity. I like this one the most! I hate Fizzi dragging long wires!
