I've tried many fruit cakes over the years, and this is arguably the best, matching the ones I remember as a child. Fully deserving five stars.

I ordered this with the intention of icing and decorating it as a birthday cake. However, delivery was delayed (eventually by a day and a half) and I couldn't take the risk, so I had to order another cake elsewhere as a replacement and use that instead. Disappointing.When it finally did come, well it's a really lovely, traditional rich fruit cake, heavily packed with fruit. Just exactly the type of cake you'd get at a posh wedding, very nice indeed.I don't know whether the delay was down to Amazon or the supplier, but it's a big shame because the quality is top notch.Based upon my experience, I would say order one if you like a nice, traditional fruit cake like they used to make, but perhaps order it in plenty of time.

Bought for my son-in law for Christmas, who prefers a fruit cake without icing, so he can enjoy it with a nice cheese.

Bought this cake to make a diamond wedding celebration cake for my parents! It was absolutely beautiful. The cake was so moist and full of fruit! People kept asking me for the recipe - would highly recommend and would not hesitate to buy again
