Works for my purposes. Will likely need sharpening often.
I have a number of very expensive German and Japanese knives, but wanted a cheaper knife to be kept in the basement where I grow almost all of our veggies and herbs. Since I often have a table full of tomatoes ripening on a table, I wanted a cheaper knife to keep handy in the basement to core tomatoes as they ripen for freezing. Although I fully expect this knife to require frequent sharpening, the blade should last for a while for coring tomatoes. The blade of this knife is made of stainless steel which does not hold a sharp edge for very long. Let's face it. If you are looking for a high-end knife with a quality blade that stays sharp longer, it's going to cost you a lot more than $9. This knife does come with a protective sheath to protect the blade which I appreciate. This knife was sharp enough, and not dull, when I receive it, and will serve my purpose. Let's face it, you are not going to find a high quality knife at this price. One thing I did notice is that, although easy to use, this knife is heavy for it's size.If it should break, as some reviewers reported, losing $9 is no big deal, but this knife is supposed to have a lifetime warranty. So, I have to wonder why people complaining about it breaking did not request a replacement.UPDATE 06/0/25:I have had this knife for about a week and have used it often during this time. I have to say I am impressed with how sharp this knife is. I accidentally light touched it on my hand while coring tomatoes and cut my hand. In the past, I have bought more expensive knives that needed sharpening before the first use. So, I was surprised how sharp this knife is "out-of-the-box". As mentioned previously, it may not stay sharp for long, but I will either sharpen it, or, considering the price, just replace it. At this point, I would recommend this knife.Considering the price, I am happy with this knife. I will update this review if my opinion change. I hope this review was helpful for you.

Best $8.95 Knife Ever
I have been unable to find (again) the very nice KitchenAid paring knife I bought a couple of years ago and this Cuisinart version was the closest match. It is really good. Things you want: sharp, long-lasting blade, comfortable and well balanced construction. What I want: forged steel for edge retention and classic construction. The Cuisinart delivers all of these. It worked so well, that I order three more to use in place of my $90 each Wusthof steak knives and they do a great job on steaks. No down-side that I have seen. ***** One reviewer said this knife was available from Walmart for a dollar less. Today, the Walmart price is $19.95,

For the price, an excellent paring knife
Kitchen knives come in a wide range of prices and qualities, from the cheapest plastic handled versions with their low-grade steel blades at one end to the finest quality chefs’ knives at the other. Amazon has paring knives ranging from $2.50 to $195.00 (and doesn’t carry the most expensive professional knives!).This knife is obviously at the low end in terms of price— it’s currently under ten bucks— but for the price you’ll get a surprisingly good kitchen utility knife. The triple rivets holding the handle to the blades ensure a “solid” feel, it maintains its edge with minimal touch-ups, and it feels comfortable in the hand.Is it a high quality knife for a professional chef? Of course not. But for cutting apples and mincing the occasional shallot, it’s an excellent knife in the “under $20” range.

paring knife good
I thought I was getting a great deal, it's sharp, and like it comes with a protective sheath to protect the blade a real plus, but then I found the exactly the same paring knife on Walmart for one dollar less than Amazon. Bummer! So that's why l gave it four stars instead of five.

Solid & Sharp Knife
It took a while to arrive (which I knew given the shipping estimated date), but the price was far better than any other options I was looking into. I use this knife primarily to cut fruit for my kids, and I couldn't be happier with it. I've washed it several times and it does not rust. It is nice and sharp, and the handle is ergonomically comfortable and very solid. It sounds funny to rave about a knife but I bought a cheaper one to replace my old paring knife, and I hated it! It was so flimsy and just felt off. I would definitely recommend this paring knife. The price point is more than reasonable, and it doesn't skimp on durability and ease of functionality.
