I didn’t except to fall in love with flying drones…until I bought this one.
The media could not be loaded. I genuinely didn’t think a $300 drone could be this fun, this capable, and this addictive. But the DJI Mini 4K absolutely blew me away.Within minutes of flying it, I knew I’d just found my new hobby. The learning curve is short, the thrill is real, and the footage is stunning—even as a complete beginner. What impressed me the most? This thing moves.I’ve flown it over 1000 meters in altitude—yes, that’s higher than most skyscrapers in any major city. And it can travel unbelievably far. I flew it into another part of town and still had full control, clear signal, and crystal-clear video feedback.A quick tip: make sure you wait until the drone has a solid GPS lock (10+ satellites) before taking off, especially in a new area. And for your first flight? Stay away from buildings. Open fields are your best friend while you get used to it.This is, hands down, the most impressive piece of tech I’ve ever bought under $300.I’m already planning to upgrade to another DJI model down the road—not because I need to, but because I’m officially hooked. DJI knows how to build smart, stable, powerful drones that feel like they should cost triple the price. If you’re even thinking about getting into drones, stop thinking.Just get this one. You’ll be shocked at what you can do on your third flight. Here’s a quick video I captured on just my third time flying.

Fantastic entry level drone
I was looking for my first drone and after doing my research I went with this one. I’ve had it for a few months now and absolutely love it. It’s got pretty decent range, I’d say half a mile or so I still get too scared to go any further but the signal stays strong lol. I strongly recommend biting the bullet and getting the fly more combo, without it the singular included battery will only get you about 15-20 minutes of flight time and the included battery charging hub, 2 extra batteries and carrying case are super useful. If you had a fast charger, you could essentially get nearly unlimited flight time by just charging up the batteries and swapping out every 20 minutes. Video quality is fantastic, I keep it at 1080P/60 just for storage conservation and ease of sharing and it still looks phenomenal. This thing can withstand some wind too, it’s so incredibly stable even with some minor gusts too. Using the remote you attach your phone into is fine, but I do think at some point in the future I wanna get the controller with the screen built in. Range is better and it’s just easier and faster to get it in the air without having to fiddle around with getting your phone in the mount, plugging it in and opening the app. Overall I absolutely love this drone, it gets me to go outside and explore cool places so I can get some drone footage lol. I recently went up to the Carolina’s to ride the blue ridge parkway and get off at overlooks to take footage and it was incredible.

Great Drone
This is a fantastic drone. I’m a newbie and found this drone to be easy to set up and fly. It does not have collision avoidance like some of the more expensive drones, but for me and my uses it’s perfect. I got the model that came with the case and extra battery. They are worth the extra dollars and I probably should have bought the fly more pack which adds the charger and another battery. Overall I’m very happy with the quality of the drone, the ease of flight, the quality of the camera, and the smoothness of the gimbal.

Good introduction drone, BUT I WISH IT WORKED WITH THE UPGRADED CONTROLLER!!!!
Great for the price! It certainly beats having to jump up $800-$1,000 in price for the next step up. I bought some extra batteries on eBay. I wish the damn remote control was compatible with the upgraded remote control. The remote control is comes with has an insanely TERRIBLE BATTERY LIFE, so make sure you have a power bank that charges at a high wattage quickly, or you're going to not have much time to fly with it.Unfortunately only works with the phone app, which isn't that great. It can lose signal if it goes too far, so having the option to upgrade to the better controller would be MUCH APPRECIATED!!!! Video quality is good, not great for shooting at night, and no detection for objects around it. The return home feature is pretty accurate, but can be slightly off. Aside from that, it's easy to fly. I like that you can adjust the flight control sticks performance, and it's pretty damn fast! It would be smart of DJI to use controller sticks to improve the flight sticks to be smoother to maneuver, because it kind of just goes full tilt unless you place it down on a surface.Overall, good introduction drone that shoots good footage. NO AUDIO, which I know you could barely hear anything when it's running, but some sort of microphone would be cool.

I went from From Wind-Tossed Toy to Precision Powerhouse
I’ve owned a few cheaper drones before this one—and by “owned,” I mean wrestled with them until the wind took them to Oz. They were shaky, hard to control, and about as stable as a toddler on a sugar high.Enter the DJI Mini 4K.This thing is an absolute game-changer. It handles like a dream—super precise, incredibly responsive, and somehow doesn’t panic at the slightest breeze. I actually trust it to fly near trees now. That’s a first. The camera? Stunning. The 4K video is smooth and cinematic, and the photos are so crisp that my backyard now looks like it belongs in a travel magazine. I didn’t know drone footage could look this good without a Hollywood budget.Battery life is solid, setup was easy, and it folds up small enough to bring anywhere. It’s like the Tesla of drones—but without the Elon tweets. If you’ve only flown cheap drones before, prepare to be blown away. Just not literally—this one actually stays put.
