** LATEST UPDATE **I was promptly contacted by the seller and they sent a replacement. The lights are VERY bright and work perfectly. I even painted them. Although they have no dim function, since we noticed people entering our premises without asking us, I placed them in an area where now I'd like to have them as they are: only turned on with movement so that they SCARE people and make them leave our premises. THEY WORK! lol. :D** UPDATE AS OF AUGUST 16, 2019**Unfortunately, one of the solar lights stopped working. I need to uninstall it in order to be able to confirm if it is the item or the batteries that came with it's fault. Please advise. Thanks.** UPDATE **I was so frustrated they had no dim mode that I wanted badly to return them but since I had to pay for the return (it was not offered by the seller nor Amazon) the return cost was higher than the solar lights cost. Since I live in a hurricane zone I thought about giving away them as a present to relatives whom I know for a fact don't mind about the dim mode as I do. To my surprise, I gave the solar lights a second chance and I was so amazed by the tremendous and powerful light (consider the fact I'm addicted to everything solar and have POWERFULL solar led lights at home) that I had to keep them! I tested them in front of my house wich has a huge garage door entrance and a porch and with just ONE light of these I could brighten ALL my garage entrance and part of the street. I was like... WHAT??!!! When it turned on. Even though I love the dim mode in this kind of lights I used other smaller ones in paths I'd have with some light 24/7 and this one for the very front and back of the house. I'm considering even to buy a few more sets of these combo for my relatives as well. TRUST ME I'm the Caribbean Solar Lights Obsessed Person of the century (lol) and THESE ARE EXAGGERATELY POWERFUL! I love to change all my LEDs to white color and will show you all how I painted and positioned the led lights. Please note I didn't use a drill this time and tried the 3M exterior heavy kind of tape and IT WORKED!!!! Try it! Blessings. :)I wanted them to have dim mode so bad. Unfortunately, they don't which - in my case - makes the item not fitted for my needs. Had to return them. :'(

A month ago, opening the front door to let the dog out at night three lights I had installed on my two neighbor's fences on a 100 foot dirt drive triggered on. I was facing a still coyote.In the morning I checked for tracks and found one coyote in front of the light. I've seen many tracks after lights were on, but no coyotes. Evidence the surprise light slows them down.These lights have been used on an older trailer home under renovation off and on since I moved in. The miles of woods behind us attracted dozens of animals of all breeds day and night, add to that the colony of cats owned by my landlord's property manager. It has been hard in the middle of the night to go out with the dog or even put out cat litter without lights.The electronic eye usually works well, they have a short recharge time it appears because they don't stay on long. The light retrigger quickly that's been useful in documenting wild animals on two and four feet.The larger lights like this do not work as well. They do not recharge on cloudy days or in stormy weather. These smaller solar lights worked through two hurricane seasons with brutally hot Florida summers but I did use some goop like caulking around the edge of the solar panel in fierce rain.I give these a five star review because they worked for what I needed them to do, as advertised. The mfg. didn't mislead the buyer into thinking the light would stay on longer. The angle of view for triggering the electronic eye may not be as wide as advertised, that and a sale is another reason to buy a few extra sets.A must have light for tent or primitive camping. and for anyone in dark areas alone or living near wildlife.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:I have had this product from another manufacturer in the past. They are all about the same... Wait this one ain't:First problem: Turning these on isn't easy. Out of the eight I purchased 5 were very very difficult (and time consuming) to get the pin to trigger the switch -I even went to a paper clip to get a better chance of hitting and triggering the switch. ONE of the eight I was not able to turn on, at all! I even drilled the hole larger in an effort of maybe hitting the switch on a different angle... nothing!Second problem: Those 4X4 post that make up the railing on your fence are actually 3 1/2 X 3 1/2 inches. The holes on these lights (The ones you put the screws through to affix the lights) are spaced 3 3/4" apart. They are wider than the post.You can put them up under the top of the handrail... but in most cases this shades the solar sensor. Overall, the spacing on these holes limits the available locations in which you can place these lights.I just drilled a hole in the center and used one hole to place the light.There are other lights out there to choose from. Get the ones with one hole in the center.AS OF 06/12/2022 THE MAKER OF THIS PRODUCT HAS REACHED OUT TO ME TO EXPRESS THIER CONCERN. I WILL KEEP THIS REVIEW UPDATED.UPDATE:As stated, the company who made these has contacted me twice. They have reimbursed me for the one light that just would not work AND... I can honestly say that the quality of their product is of the utmost concern for them.I have, now had them mounted for 10days+. They operate well and are extremely bright.That which frustrated me in my original review, may still be frustrating... But the product is sound, and I believe they are making adjustments to the product.
