Perfect 12v solution
Bought this for my Motorhome / RV : and it's a perfect solution, as it runs off the TV without the need for a noisey power converter or generator - I had excellent customer service from Suzanne and the team. I recommend this product highly.

Ideal for Many Scenarios, but not ALL....
If your TV is on 24/7 and you use your AppleTV to show live content like security cameras, this product isnt for you. This USB adapter is effectively a battery and an inverter. The battery is 2600mAh, 7.3V... So about 19Wh in total. The use case where this makes the most sense is for people who use their AppleTV for a couple hours a day and thats about it.When the AppleTV is not in use, this draws power from the TV and charges up its internal battery - so it is critical that your TV's USB port is always on and doesnt turn off when your TV turns off. When you turn your TV and AppleTV on, it starts drawing power from the battery. There is enough charge here to run the AppleTV for about 2 hours on its own, and this number is ignoring that there is still some charge coming in from your TV charging the battery while it drains running the AppleTV.Your TV USB port charge speed will vary...Low end, poor performance USB: ~2-3 hoursHigh end, good performance USB: ~5-6 hoursSo if you just watch TV for a few hours a day and thats it, this product will serve you well. If you watch for long stretches of time or your TV is on 24/7, this will be a disappointing accessory. Double check to make sure your TV provides power when turned off, you can do this by plugging in a mobile phone to the USB port and making sure it charges when the TV is on and off. If it doesnt charge, this product will most definitely not work for your needs. Also worth noting:Upon receiving this product, it must be plugged into a USB port for 30 minutes to fully charge the battery before use.

Nifty power device
Does what is supposed to do -- gives you an alternate way to power your APPLE TV unit. You may not be near a plug but you would be near a USB port that provides power. Saves you an extension cord. This is also a battery -- works during power outages.

Works in Theory
At first it appeared that this product was not going to work. Until we realized that it needed to be plugged in to the TV for approximately 30 minutes to begin working. After that it will work for a few hours. But that is about all it can handle. It would not be suitable if you were hoping to have your Apple TV display art, or you were binge watching on a Saturday. However, it will work for short periods of time…and if that is all you need, then it is perfect for you.

Great solution for your car!
So I have a device that allows you to plug it into your CarPlay USB port and it basically makes CarPlay think it's a phone. This device has an HDMI port and a USB port on it so that you can plug in anything with an HDMI (Playstation, streaming device, etc.). I decided to plug in my AppleTV, but the AppleTV requires a 120V plug to power the AppleTV.....enter the Mission USB Power Cable! When you first get this device, there is a sticker asking you to charge it with a USB port for several hours. I plugged it in and left it overnight. There are some LED lights on the unit to show you how much the unit is charged. I haven't opened this device yet, but I believe it is just a rechargeable battery with a buck boost circuit to boost the battery power to the required voltage for the AppleTV.Without this device, you would need an inverter to provide the 120V necessary for the operation of the AppleTV, so it definitely suits a much needed function. The build quality is very nice and it should be durable for years to come. Installation is as easy as plugging into a USB port and then plugging the other cable into the AppleTV. This is a great value for the money and I would highly recommend it if you have a need like I did! This would also work well if you didn't have an outlet near your tv for the AppleTV to plug in to, but did have a USB port on your tv.

Draws too much power from usb port
This product worked for a couple of hours and stopped when I tried to switch apps on the Apple TV. Tv had a warning that popped up saying that the device is drawing too much power from usb port. The tv is a Sony Bravia, have not tried using with other brands.
