Enhanced my water quality
This is an impressive solution for anyone looking to improve their water quality without the hassle of traditional salt-based systems. This salt-free water conditioner effectively prevents scale buildup, protecting appliances and plumbing from mineral deposits, which has made a noticeable difference in the performance of my water heater and fixtures. With a capacity of 600,000 gallons and a promised lifespan of 5-6 years, this unit offers excellent longevity and value. Installation was straightforward, and I appreciate that it’s a whole-house system, ensuring every tap delivers conditioned water. The design is compact, which is great for those with limited space.

This unit does almost nothing- save your money
Don't waste your money! It doesn't work to change the taste of the water nor does it help with residue and calcium buildup on the pipes! And I also wasted a lot of money which I won't get back because of cost of plumbing!THIS WAS 1ST REVIEW:To be fair, I'm not sure any of these types of elements work. I had another one previously and it seemed to have a minor effect on less toilet bowl scum, but certainly not shiny and clean. The previous unit did a better job than this unit. The other unit they took back, but it still cost me a $150 extra to put this one in. It was a simple installation.Save your money! It doesn't seem to work. Oh! I forgot to mention that it does leave a white dust on the bottom of a pan I use to heat water. This is probably the calcium and other minerals it combines with, but if I am getting this in my body, I don't think it would be absorbable.

Way better than a salt softener.
Way better than a water softener. I installed it a week ago and I can already see the reduction of calcium in the shower.

TAC is proven, but needs right conditions, Wish some key components were not plastic
This unit is fairly easy to install. It largely consists simply of the tank itself, the TAC media, the screw on top, the connectors, and a tube that runs down the middle. The connectors have quick connects on them which also work pretty easily. I am not sure what the difference is between this unit and the larger unit other than just another pound of tac media. The biggest thing I dislike are the connectors being plastic. Tightening NPT connections involve a mechanical seal where the male and female connectors are somewhat crushed against each other. Plastic makes that more complicated as its strength is much different from brass. Cross threading can quickly damage plastic threads and its hard to recover from that. You need to be exceptionally safe in terms of too much pressure potentially cracking or weakening the plastic fitting. This is hard as NPT connections often involve a degree of force to make sure you get a good bond. Home water systems can easily have 60+ psi and any leak that develops on your main water line could quickly flood causing tons of damage. I used both tape and dope rated for plastic use. Still first time connecting it leaked out a few days later, likely as I was not willing to overtighten the connection.I talk about TAC effectiveness below, but I dislike some of the claims the product make. It states "Prevent scale buildup in your faucets, showers" I would say none of that I have seen even 6 months later.TAC EffectivenessTAC has studies done showing its effectiveness but you have to have the right conditions to see results. Salt based water softeners can solve a larger array of problems but TAC has its place. Assuming your hardness is due to the right minerals then TAC is best at reducing build up on the interior of pipes and say hot water heater build up. TAC doesn't really help with build up where there is intermittent water (shower/faucet heads/glass water spots). I have seen the things that claim TAC makes it easier to wipe away water spots and build up but I can't say I have seen much if any change with this device (been in place for many months now). We have calcium in the water and are not overly hard about 140 ppm. Still getting the glass cleaned can end up requiring sanding or heavy scraping. It is hard to judge most of the other components here. What is the quality of the TAC media? Is the tank design the best (it seems fairly standard from my research). I can say the flow rate/psi doesn't seem really effected. I would imagine though few homes would use near 8 gpm. Generally a bathtub maxes out around 6 gpm and a shower is generally regulated to 2.5 gpm. The plastic connectors (as mentioned) not my favorite but not non-standard in plumbing. The tank itself hopefully is well constructed given the simple design and the fairly low PSI of household water systems fiberglass should hopefully hold. The product value though for tank size and media content seem to be good.If this product just advertised as a TAC filter and for lowering pipe scale build up I would say 4 stars given the issues mentioned. It making the misleading claims though about bath/shower/sink build up reduction which I don't think there is really any evidence for (and I have certainly not seen). For those claims another star lost.

600,000 Gallon Capacity Whole House Water Filtration System
Forget about those tiny cartridge water filters that claim to be whole house filters. This is a real whole house filter that will continue to filter your water for a much longer time. Just as easy to hook up, but does require some floor space. Well worth the extra effort as you will not be buying filter cartridges every month. Well made and works great.
