My Favorite
I have been reading CW since the mid sixty's ( yeah, I'm old.) Been my favorite mag all these year's. Great writing, Peter Eagan, for example. I still have a few more laps in me and I will be reading CW till the end of the race.

A lie.
Kind of a lie for my star review if I'm 100 percent honest. I want the magazine to survive because something is better than nothing so I rated it high. I'm disappointed in the new format and new content. I miss the old style and content. What a way to go for a failing magazine to alienate all their current subscribers in an attempt to win new ones. Give all your current subscribers a quarter of the content for the same price (published quarterly instead of monthly) and change the tried and true look and content. That is a recipe for getting no subscribers overnight. You can see that with the now defunct Motorcyclist Magazine. It is completely illogical. It is like they were thinking "Hmm subscriptions are down... I guess we should give all the current subscribers a subscription to a new magazine no one subscribed to and make it four times more expensive. And let's hope new people discover it is completely different and like what they see."

Bigger does not mean better.
I was getting Cycle World in paper and enjoyed the content very much for years. Then they cut back to a quarterly release with a promise of "more content". The magazine got larger in size, but it seemed it was more picture space. And writing quality decreased as well. I started getting the electronic copy too. So the "size" increase wasn't realized. It just seemed like the product wasn't as good. And when Zack Courts and Ari Henning left. I just didn't resubscribe. I loved their contributions and online content too.

Went from monthly to quarterly, now glossy pics but little content
It used to be a monthly magazine, always with some meaningful content. Now moved to a glossier quarterly, thicker, but not much content. Disappointing, I won't renew. Leaves MCN as about the only worthwhile magazine that maintains content, hope they don't change.
