Best sieve for kefir makers.
I make kefir from fresh grains. I had been using stainless steel for the sieve and I wanted to switch to nylon. I primarily use the large one, it hooks sturdily onto my large glass pyrex. It is sturdy, cleans easily and does a great job straining the grains. I use my plastic spoon to scrape the bottom of the sieve, and it works great.

The Kefir Pro Strainer
I received Kefir grains from by brother (less than a tbsp) and put them in organic, grass-fed milk (about 20 ounces in a glass Ball jar) and put the small filter over the top of the jar. Within 24 hours the milk had congealed and I let it ferment another 24 hours. Then I used the big strainer to strain the Kefir grains out using a wooden spoon. Then I put the grains in another jar with 20 ounces of milk. I added cocoa powder and nibs to the strained Kefir, and wild frozen blueberries. Avoid the sugar! The following is an amazing fact about Kefir: Kefir bacteria have thick, protective cell walls that help them withstand the acidic environment; so kefir bacteria can reach the small intestine alive and active, where they can exert their beneficial effects on the gut microbiome. If you don't know that microbiome matters, then start researching on health websites. Good health often depends on a healthy microbiome! Fructose and refined carbs are disruptive of the microbiome.

I would like to have a medium size. One is small, the other is large.
The small one is good, but the big one is deformed. I tried to straighten the deformation, but it didn't work. The mesh remained wavy.

Good little strainer sifter
We use these primarily to make our own tea and thus far they work really well. I have concerns about the durability over time, but for $8.99 for the pair I don't expect these will last forever. These are for smaller jobs.Easy to use and clean.Keep your expectations realistic and you'll be fine. It's a good deal for the price.
