Needed a new router to use as an access point and saw this model on Amazon. We just upgraded to 1 Gbps speed at the house and needed to extend the signal upstairs on the opposite end of the house.I saw this Nighthawk 7 (RS500) had numerous positive reviews later- a lot of people vouched for it’s speed, coverage, functionality, and easy set up through the Nighthawk mobile app. Although the latter isn’t an issue for me (I work in tech), I opted for this router because of the bands - 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz - coverage area, the latest wifi 7 tech, and security features even though I am using this as an AP (I may create a separate network later and switch back to “Router Mode” allowing you to access the Nighthawk’s customizable security features).I swapped out all my CAT5 cables with some new CAT8s and everything hooked up to LAN was super fast - SpeedTest outputs of 700 Mbps to a little over 1Gbps of speed depending on the time of day. More importantly, wi-fi speeds didn’t disappoint - as I moved all over my house, front-yard, and back-yard, no issues of the network dropping. So glad I moved on from my Apple home networking eco-system to this Netgear 7 router. If you’re on the fence about upgrading to this model, don’t be - worth every penny!

I used the NETGEAR app to set it up, and the process was super simple — everything was clearly laid out and only took a few minutes.I’ve connected over 7 devices at home using this adapter, and it’s handled the load without any issues. From laptops to smart TVs and even a printer, the connection has been stable and consistent throughout the house. The compact design is also a big plus — it doesn’t take up much space and fits discreetly into any setup.

The Nighthawk App made it difficult to Set up. I gave up on using the app, and did the setup on the browser site. After I was able to get the router setup, everything was fine. Even the app worked, and it seems to have a lot of nice features, including security features. Router speeds are good and connection is stable. If you get past the setup, it's a worthwhile purchase.

I had a TPLink Gaming router before and I constantly had issues with Wi-Fi stability, so I looked into this product.Netgear has an impressive, smooth GUI that makes setting it up easy, even after transitioning from another competitor's GUI.Wi-Fi range is significantly improved as well within my home as previous deadzones are no longer a problem.Overall, I'm super happy with this product for gaming and using streaming services like Netflix and Youtube.

This router is a great upgrade from what we had before. It's slim for smaller spaces and makes streaming TV and internet/game playing much faster and set up was simple. The only issue I had was my laptop was unable to stay connected and the Wi-Fi driver on my laptop had to be updated. Other than that, works great!

Excellent for price point easy to set up works flawlessly however sometimes I noticed speeds drop. Coverage in and out of the home is amazing!Best coverage from any router we’ve had.
