This book is useless as a reference. Incomplete, no index, no table of contents
THIS IS NOT THE COMPLETE TALMUD. There is no table of contents, there aren't even page numbers! There's no index. If you're interested in finding certain controversial texts, YOU WON'T FIND IT IN THIS PAPERBACK BOOK!!!This book was a waste of money and time. From GROK:The 1878 English edition by Joseph Barclay, titled The Talmud, is not a complete translation of either the Babylonian Talmud (Bavli) or the Jerusalem Talmud (Yerushalmi). Instead, it contains selections of treatises primarily from the Mishnah, with explanations drawn from the Gemara and other sources, focusing mostly on the Babylonian Talmud. The preface of the work clarifies that it includes "Selections of treatises, translated from the Mishna, with explanations from the Gemara and other sources," and it also features a specific treatise on the Tabernacle from the Bereitha.Barclay’s work does not cover the entire Babylonian or Jerusalem Talmud but rather provides a curated compilation of passages, with a heavier emphasis on the Babylonian Talmud’s Gemara for its explanatory content.......

strange requirements
Not what I expected. Some strange customs and practices. I couldn't believe some of the requirements. Probably all true, but I'm not enjoying the read.
