Excellent.
This book is fantastic. When I bought this I hadn't read in quite a while due to having two children and working. I walked past a Waterstones and saw this in the window and it caught my eye and realised I hadn't read in years and now my eldest was three I should really try to get back into something I used to love so much. After reading the back and finding it on amazon for almost £5 cheaper I had to read it, I wasn't disappointed.I wanted a book that kept me guessing, a great story etc, this had it all.Tessa was the only survivor in a grave surrounded by black eyed susans with the other victims of the serial killer. The book goes backwards and forwards between the past and present. In the past you find out about what happened after Tessa was found and the build up to the trial of the accused serial killer and Tessa testifying against him. In the present you read about Tessa fighting to clear the accused and free him from death row as she has known since three days after the original trial (17 years ago) that the actual serial killer is still out there as she being left black eyed susan flowers. In my opinion the book is faultlessly written and kept me interested through every single page. I literally couldn't put it down and every chance o matter how short of time I had I was fitting in reading it wherever I could. If you enjoy "who done it" psychological thrillers then I highly doubt you will be disappointed by this book.

I still enjoyed it and I think it is a good book ...
This one was slightly disappointing to me. I still enjoyed it and I think it is a good book up to a point. The story focuses on Tessa, the sole survivor of a serial killer. She can't remember much about what happened to her but has some doubt in her mind about whether the right man is on Death Row for it.The narrative switches back and forth between past and present, mostly from Tessa's point of view as a teenager and an adult. There are also other points of view occasionally and court transcripts. The relationship between young Tessie and her therapist were definitely my favourite parts. I was also fascinated by Lydia. I thought the book flowed well and it kept me interested throughout.I did have a couple of issues with it but to disclose them here would potentially spoil parts of the book for others, so I'm not going to.Having said that, Black-Eyed Susans was a very fun read in general. I guess I just expected a little more.

Thought provoking
I saw this book a while back. The cover was eye-catching. Since starting to read electronically I grudge paying more than a couple of pounds for a book. So I was delighted to discover Black_Eyed Susan for 99p. It was well worth the wait. I was definitely and deliberately misled. An horrific ordeal on a young girl leaves her scarred both physically and mentally. Was the wrong an convicted.Everyone was pleased at the time. But now an innocent man could go to the chair. And new evidence emerges to cast doubt on the original conviction. Surely someone knows the truth.Read it when you have a few hours to spare.

Different
I have just finished Black-Eyed Susans, in spite of a growing feeling that reaching the end was becoming a chore. On the other hand, I was aware that it is not a bad book. The issues are that there is not a single likeable or well drawn character in the whole novel and that the plot meanders back and forth until its unsatisfactory resolution. I came away from this book empty-handed. However, the concept is original and, on the whole, well written.

A good read with an interesting plot
Initially found this book hard to read as it went back and forth between the present and the past. I'm glad I persevered in the end! The book would have been better if it had covered the abduction and escape of the surviving 'Susan'. Did not guess the ending! A good read with an interesting plot.
