Melannco 12-Opening Collage Frame (Espresso)

The glass for one of the frames was broke upon arrival. I am shipping it back and I *should* get another Friday that will hopefully not be broken. Whoever was packaging them didn't do it very smartly, as the frame was placed on the bottom of a (unneccesarily) gigantic box and then all the packaging paper placed on top of it. Something with glass needs to be surrounded on all sides for adequate protection during shipping.To comment on the frame itself, the frame is made of plastic, but I thought it still looked nice. I didn't get the chance to take it out of the box, but as long as the glass isn't broken I'd definitely keep it for the price.EDIT: The new frame arrived within one day of shipping and wasn't broken. The box better fit the product and there was bubble wrap on all sides! Also, after getting a chance to take it out of the box and put pictures in it, I would say that the frame isn't something fancy, but it gets the job done and still looks nice. The backing as others have said leaves something to be desired. It's one giant piece that has little tabs all around it to hold it on. Some of the tabs were a lot more loose than others, and one even swung down limp, but it doesn't hurt the frame. Also, I got the 4x6 prints from Ritz and the pictures were just a tiny bit too big, which was probably on ritz's side, not the frames. Just a little cutting and it fit nicely.

I can't help but think a lot of the problems people describe is user error. Mine worked out for me just great. So great, in fact, that I plan to order a bunch more to put up the staircase as my son grows. The frame is a tad flimsy so you do have to be careful with it, which is the only reason I gave this a 4 instead of a 5 star rating. Also, some of the twisty locks broke off as I was maneuvering them, but there are so many it really didn't matter in the end (another reason for 4 instead of 5 stars). Over all, for $25, this is a great deal, and a great frame. It looks good, and does the job.A word of advice: save the little foam spacers they have in the frame when it arrives and place one on the back of each photo before replacing the backing, it helps a lot. Other than that, just be gentle as you would with any glass product.

So I bought this after reading the reviews..and I was glad to know ahead of time: This is a PLASTIC expresso colored frame. However, it's very nice looking. But if you're looking for wood, this is not the one to order.However, plastic was fine me (just glad I knew ahead of time, thanks to the other reviewers!). It's a great loook!As for the backing, it was easy and simple to remove - just unhinge the clasps, easy and gently pull up. No fuss, no pain, just as simple to put back on. I had actually really worried about it due to the other reviews, but I had no issue at all! Maybe they have changed it?? I was concerned as I am buying this for a gift, and didn't want my Mom to go insane changing out photos in case she wants different ones that what I put in, but she won't have an issue at all.As for packing, Amazon did a fine job, if not overkill by the HUGE box they sent it in all packaged and fluffed up. No breakage there.This is a really nice espresso plastic frame that is easy to get photos in and out of! I think I will buy some more for my own house!!

I've had two of these frames for quite some time now. They are nice even though they are made from a plastic material. I even painted one for my child's nursery. It took a couple of coats of paint, but it turned out well. The only reason I took off a star is because the plastic pieces that hold the back of the frame in place are a nightmare. Every time I want to change pictures in the frames, I have to spend at like 15 minutes moving the pieces to take the back off and fasten it back again. Further, some of the plastic pieces have actually broken off because they aren't very sturdy. I think it would have been nice to just snap the back into place.

I wanted a collage frame in brown to match our decor. About 70% of collage frames right now are black and 20% white so I was excited when I came across this one in espresso. It goes well with our decor and displays our pictures beautifully! I am using it to display my daughter's monthly portraits for her first year. I will say that it is not wood, but a really hard plastic made to look like wood. The backing is one piece with about 30 tabs you have to rotate just right to remove the backing to insert your pictures. A pain, but once completed, it looks nice! For the price it does just what I want.

This is a great frame for displaying your 4x6 inch pictures, with each smaller frame interlocking nicely with the ones around it to make a nice complete frame.The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it tends to be rather bulky and won't fit easily on the walls of most people's homes, as most won't have a blank space large enough on the wall to fit this in. I bought these to give as Christmas presents, but now I'm hesitant to give them out for fear they are too large.Otherwise, this is a beautiful collage frame that will as a touch of sophistication to your decor at a great price!

I knew the frame was plastic, so I wasn't expecting excellent quality. I was more upset that the color was off. The color was brown, and not espresso. Espresso is supposed to be basically black with sliver of brown to the color and these frames are nothing like that. You also may have to trim your pictures very slightly as they don't perfectly fit in the frames. I won't be returning it because at the end of the day, the frame still does its job and will look good on my walls. Maybe one of these days, I'll be willing the fork over the cash on a really nice wooden frame, but until then, this one will be fine.
