Bachmann Trains - Pacific Flyer Ready To Run Electric Train Set - HO Scale

I had purchased one of these for my brother who said his old roomate did something with his HO train and he really missed it. I liked this one so much, I returned one that was supposed to smoke from the Smoke Stack but didn't. This had one more car than that one, and it runs and looks great, providing a lot more, "Action" on my train platform. My brother likes his as well.

A throwback to my childhood! My first train set was almost identical to this one! Construction appears to be great, I like the detail they went to, and it performed without any issues. Track is easy to put together, and is a good size for a starter set. My son absolutely loves this set, and want's to get it out every weekend.

Bought this as an 'around the tree' Christmas decoration. Haven't been into trains since the Tyco days, and don't have fond memories of that brand. This was was different. Sets-up in 15 minutes and runs fast and quietly. It has been such a fixture, we left it up in the corner to amuse ourselves and the cat. I am amazed that nothing has broken, and no serious issues. I learned that somtimes the track seems like it is attached properly, but not really. Worthwhile to read the instructions that clearly explain to check the track connections for misalignment before using. Whether you are getting back into the hobby or gifting it to a newbie, I think these sets are great choices. If I had a do-over, I would probably opt for the Santa Fe or UP diesel sets, only because you have more accessory options for the more modern equipment.

If you are looking for a good starter set, a child's first train, or you aren't a super serious collector, this is a pretty good investment. It's a simple train setup that features a classic steam train and some cars. It only goes in a circle. However, it comes with a controller and tracks. Quality wise, not amazing. It is pretty flimsy and cheap. You must be delicate when handling it. If you pull tracks apart without squeezing the clips on the bottom, they will break. Make sure you keep pets away. Your children must know how careful to be with this hobby. Overall, I would recommend if you are looking for a cheap but pretty good train. But this is more for people who want to get into the hobby. If you are looking for more toy-ish or a train to wrap around your Christmas Tree, this probably isn't the best for that.

We always had a train under our tree during the Christmas season when I was little and then the train got replaced by presents over night on Christmas eve for the next morning. I never started that tradition with my own children but decided I wanted to do it with my grandkids. This train was perfect! It reminded me of daddy's old HO train set and it worked wonderfully! It is small enough to not take up a lot of space but large enough to be noticed and played with under the tree. I can't wait to add some village pieces to it as the years go by.

Reminds me of the one I had as a kid. Got a cleaning car because I was cleaning track more then I’d like. This is for under the Christmas tree and they give you just enough circle track for that.

Reminds me of my childhood! So many memories of seeing trains under the tree! I bought this for my 34 year old son this Christmas. Nostalgia! I want him to have those memories to share! It was a last minute thought for something different to send him. I always send something he would not think to buy for himself! Now he will think of me every time he turns it on, and smile!

EZ track is an excellent system. Well-made, fits tight, looks good, makes solid connections and kids can participate much more in track assembly. Also great for temporary assembly and can be put away easily. Wish we had this when I was a kid. The engine and cars are of good quality with nice detailing. The engine runs smooth and quiet, but gets stuck on every switch and rerailer at low speed because of a hump over one of the axles underneath... even the rerailer/power feed section that comes with the the set, which is totally unacceptable! This can be fixed by filing down the hump, which is a harmless alteration but come on -- it should come ready to use out of the box. On the simple loop with no accessories or turnouts, the power pack shorted out after 10 mins and would not fully reset after any period of waiting. Christmas had to be saved... I got out to a store and found a replacement, for which I paid more than I paid for the whole set in the first place. Bachmann has said that they will replace the defective pack, I am sending it out today. Hopefully no nonsense. The verdict is this... if you are a budding hobbyist and going to take the train and the parts from the box and mix/match with other trains you already have, this is a nice little set and a good value. If this is a first train set and you are relying solely on what's in the box to make holiday/birthday dreams come true, do NOT get this set... between the delicate parts, unreliable power pack (see other reviews) and engine that needs modification to avoid getting stuck at low speed, there's just too much that can go wrong.

Very professional and helpful

Es de una calidady llega en tiempo

Bachmann makes the best train sets hands down! This set is easy to assemble and you can see the quality in it’s performance.

Works well, steam loco is nicely detailed

Se lo regale a mi esposo por su cumpleaños, el material es bueno, es fácil de armar y de usar, el lo tiene para coleccionar, las vías permiten que se haga más grande.
