LG NB2020A Speaker Bar

I bought this to help the sound of my Philips 28" TV. and I fear I should have shopped around. It only excepts one input so I have had to choose between the TV or DVD so as I originally wanted it for the TV, that's where it is.The sound is a little better, but I have a Virgin box and now have to turn it off or I get the sound coming through when the TV is off.The little hand set is useful to but has more buttons than you need and some don't appear to work. Turning it off is impossible, the red OFF button and the 'on' 'off' buttons turn it off for a couple of seconds then it turns its self back on. the mute works and leaves the box blinking at you to remind you it's muted..

Easy to set up. We are very pleased with the sound quality from the sound bar. I think people complaining about the lack of bass and controls are expecting too much from a product at this price. You pays your money..... One thing I find is that it improves the sound volume on some Sky recorded programmes which for some reason have low volume levels. The reason I have given it four stars is because as an LG product connected to an LG Smart TV, I would have expected to be able to use the TV remote to control the sound, rather than adding to the litter of remotes I have lined up on the coffee table. Otherwise, it would have been five.

Bought this because my 1 year old LG 42" lcd tv speakers started the dreaded 'vibrating' with certain tones, mostly deep male voice tones which was very distracting and annoying when trying to watch movies or tv. Wanted to stick with LG because they take some beating for value and quality (apart from the built in tv speakers). Arrived within 2 days of ordering, looked great and seated it directly below the tv. Sound is very nice quality, and the remote whilst small also has some controls for the lg tv. As with many people though, i didnt want to have lots of different remote controls, one for tv,one for sky and one for the sound bar, (tv was programmed into sky remote) and the great thing was i could programme the sky remote to control this sound bar, and to switch the volume control on the sky remote from the tv to the sound bar just required pressing and holding select and 1, so now everything is controlled with just the sky remote. The sound bar has an auto on feature too so it automatically starts when the tv is switched on. Very happy so far and a bargain at £75

As other reviewers. I also found the sound output of the new TV rather limited especially when playing concert DVDs. This does improve the sound considerably. Works fine so cannot understand why some reccommend buying a more expensive optical cable.two odd things:1. There is a sticker on the unit to remind the purchaser to register the warranty - This is stuck tightly to the unit and cannot be peeled off without making a real mess.2. The indicator light comes on when the unit is on Standby. not when it is on. This is rather confusing.

The sound quality on my new Samsung 32inch TV was very tinny and muffled. No matter how much I increased the volume, it didn't help. I found myself resorting to sub titles on occasion! This sound bar has totally solved the problem. The sound is crisp and distinct with appreciably more depth. I took the advice of other reviewers and also bought the pearl digital optical cable which improved it still further. If you want booming base and cinema type surround sound this is definitely not for you, but if you just want to be able to understand the dialogue and have an much improved sound experience I think this would be hard to beat for what is a very modest price.

I've got a Samsung TV, and the sound has always been a bit of a let down.This soundbar comes with everything you need, including an optical out cable and a tiny remote control.Took 5 minutes to unbox it and get it working.The sound now is amazing, you can hear background noises as well as hear speech clearly. TV, YouView box and DVD's all sound like they should.There is an option via the remote to have it turn off and on when the TV is, so once it's set up you can simply forget about it and just enjoy things how they should be.

This is exactly what I wanted. It was not too expensive, sits very neatly under my 39" Panasonic TV and adds depth to the sound lacking in the TV speakers. My minor critisism would be minimum controls (volume and lip synch only) and no real indication of volume levels other than a flashing LED.If you are looking for a room filling cinema experience then I'm afraid you will be disappointed and have to dig far deeper into your pockets.

I bought this speaker bar to try and improve the sound quality of my then Hitachi tv , it was not really suitable as Hitachi did not have an audio out put to connect directly to the bar . Now that i have a tv with an audio output i am able to use the bar , and i find it ok . I suppose the more you pay the better the result , I am quite happy with my LG speaker bar as it cost me well under £100 .
