My Daughter’s Favorite Felting Tool — Just Be Careful, It’s Sharp!
I bought this for my daughter who’s really gotten into felting lately, and it has quickly become her absolute favorite tool. She loves the pen-style grip, which makes it so much easier for her to do detailed work without hand fatigue. It’s lightweight, well-balanced, and feels very natural in the hand—especially for smaller hands. The option to adjust how many needles are inserted is great too, depending on how fine or broad the area she’s working on is.But a word of caution: this thing is crazy sharp. Definitely not a toy. We’ve had zero accidents, but it’s worth noting if you’re buying for a younger crafter—supervision is a must. That said, its sharpness is exactly what makes it so precise and effective.Pros:✔️ Comfortable, pen-style grip for better control✔️ Customizable with one, two, or three needles✔️ Great for detail work✔️ High-quality and holds up to regular use✔️ Excellent for beginner to intermediate feltersCons:✘ Very sharp—handle with careFinal Thoughts:If you’re into needle felting (or shopping for someone who is), this tool is worth every penny. It’s precise, comfortable, and built to last. My daughter now insists on using this for every project!

Good Quality Needle Felting Tool -- read re: needles included
This is the first pen style needle felting tool I have used, and am very glad to have it! I have a wider tool (also by Clover) that holds five needles, but that isn't good on smaller or 3-D projects (I use it on cookie cutter ornaments and wall hangings). For smaller projects and 3-D items, I have been using a single needle alone, without a holder. I decided it was time to ramp it up a bit and try some pen style holders. I chose the Clover brand 1-3 needle pen because I have liked other Clover products, including some for needle felting. The needle holder is a good size and shape, and works very well. So far I have just used it with three needles, but I sure like how much faster things work up doing so. The needles are placed close together, so it is easy to control the area being worked on.NOTE: The three needles included are "fine" (Clover needles only come in two sizes) and are best for finishing work, details, and small pieces. You will want to use lower gauge felting needles for working up cores. Clover does not number their needles, but these are maybe 39/40?If you need the needles to go further in the project you are working on -- like a larger 3-D animal -- the top pink section is removable. Just beware the needles could break more easily (and is not recommended with the included needles), especially if using 2/3 needles. Twist the white ring off the pink handle to change out or replace needles. The clear needle cover has ridges in it that fit over an indentation in the pink top of the tool.

Any brand needle in Small size!
I will be using this for small work, so i don't mind that it needs small needles in order to close the protective cap. For those of you that said you have to use the Clover needles, that is because they come in small. Use all the med and large needles you want, just make sure you don't put the protective cap on. If you need to use larger needles, then keep the cap off until you are finished... simple. No breakage. For those of you that complain that the needles break, blame how you use it and what on. If you are doing deep penetrating packing or shaping a core, take out the small thin ones and use large needles. Small needles are for finishing a surface and doing small light duty jobs of felting. You should not need to go deep at all with the needles that come with it. If you do break needles, it might also be because you are not going in and out at the exact same angle. The largest thickest needles will break if you do that. But even the cheapest and thinnest needles will last a long time if you learn how to handle them. Don't blame the holder! Blame it on inexperience.

Helped fix many of the cat claw snags on our couch!
I was skeptical, but saw online that a felting needle (using just one) helped stuff snagged fabric threads sticking out on the couch to get weaved back into the fabric sort of. I mean, it's not back to the way it was before our cat had clawed the fabric, but it was really close for most of the snags. We had probably fifty spots, and I've been able to hide about 80% of them. There were some really big snags that I didnt have the technique just right for and I broke one of the needles, so I dropped a star because it's intuitive but not fool-proof (e.g. me proof). Because I was only using one needle and now only have two remaining, I can't give any critique on using it for actual felting. But for fixing a couch, it worked pretty well. I do not regret the purchase.

Great Tool
I really love this felting tool; it's very comfortable to hold and control and the option to use 1 to 3 needles makes it very good for both quick felting (on small to medium-sized projects) and small details. The first one I purchased was kind of defective, unfortunately, but it happens; it was still usable, but there was no way to change out the needles when they became dull, because it wouldn't open for me, I guess it was too tightly-screwed on? This last one I purchased is perfect, though, and I love it. It often does better than the 8- needle tool I have, probably because the needles are better quality. My only issue with the tool is that you can't replace the needles with just any kind, they have to be a certain size; specifically, the little bend at the top of the needles: they can't be too long, or they won't let the tool close back up, so when it is time to replace them, I'll need to keep that in mind. Otherwise, it's wonderful and I can see myself using it for a long time.

A must have for cat owners!
The media could not be loaded. This needle felting tool did an amazing job at repairing thread snags on my couch after my cat used it as a scratching post. This tool is a must have for cat owners! It works miracles. Attached are before and after photos, as well as a video showing the tool in action.
