My new high quality favorite recorder.
The media could not be loaded. The primary use for this was intended to be informal recordings of band practices. After hearing how well it images though I've got some new uses in mind. I can't wait to record some ocean, or rapids for example. The mics are very sensitive and much quieter than I was lead to believe by some other reviews. Being able to record both x/y and mid/side at the same time is terrific too, although after my first attempt I didn't seem to be able to massage the M/S in post as I'd hoped. It seemed to be recorded with the depth set during the recorder rather than raw. I hope that will be resolved by some more manual studying. One recording is attached (unless blocked)- a few seconds of an old album, recorded in x/y, centered and a couple feet in front of 10'-seperated speakersPROS: Great sounding mic. Flexible recording methods 2/4 channel, x/y, mid/side with adjustable width. I use the 1/4" tripod mount with my insta360 selfieStick to set the height. When connected to a PC it prompts for use as a USB drive (to retrieve recordings) or as a mic (2ch/4ch). Zoom provides drivers that work well, allowing 4 channel capture in cubase for example. The controls are intuitive and well-labeled.CONS: MiniUSB? Come on, that was from 20 years ago. I had to scrounge around to dig up a cable to use. The case LOOKS terrific, but the plastic feels a bit fragile. That could be a good thing though, since I'll protect it (and more importantly, the mics) a bit more than if it felt bullet-proof. The black & white display looks a bit dated, and almost out of place on an otherwise futuristic looking recorder, but is functional. RF noise- I have one (very cheap) wireless TX/RX pair intended for InEarMonitors. The Transmitter picks up a horrible buzz from the Zoom anywhere within a few feet of it. None of my other wireless or wired device pick up anything, so I'll blame it more on the other device's poor filtering or shielding, but it's something to be aware of.

Compact recorder that works well
I've been using this little recorder for about six months now (purchased it back in Aug. 2016) and I really like using it. I also purchased this accessory pack to use with it. Both the recorder and the accessories have been more than adequate for my recording needs. While I don't use it on a daily basis, I have used it about a dozen times over the past six months - mainly to record outdoors, but also some recording inside. I like having the different sound scape configurations - I've mainly only been using the two basic 2 channel settings and I like the recordings that has created. I also purchased two of the full size Sony 32GB Class 10 Memory Cards to use with the recorder and those have worked well for me. The H2n came with a memory card - I had thought it would be a full-sized SD card, but instead it turned out to be one of the micro-SD cards in an adaptor. No big deal, but that is why I bought the full sized cards like I did.I'm pretty happy with my purchase, this recorder is pretty simple to use and small enough that I can carry it around in my backpack with all my other gear. It did seem a bit plasticy to me at first, but it's seems pretty road-worthy to me now.

Awesome
I've been using this thing for a couple years now. I love it. I've made incredible recordings with it. The interface and button selection was a little tricky at first but it's really fairly easy to use and I've recommended it to a number of people. The price has really come down as well. Some may feel it's bulky but I really like the size and shape and that it sits upright to capture the best possible sound. The recording format options are all there and the battery life is great. I recorded for 15 hours straight with no problems. The gain control and readout are easy to spot and use. The different patterns I haven't used too much and tend to stick with the base stereo pattern, but they have come in handy at specific times when I needed a more 360 pattern, and the results are detectable. You do have to change the setting for the battery if you use rechargeables.

Excellent for amateur or pro
I was hesitant about getting this product. It was a little more out of my price range, but based on some of the reviews of this and its predecessor, the H2, I decided on buying this one for my wife. She is a vocal teacher and participates in many singing groups. She needed something for practices and this seemed to be just the right size. I had purchased the Tascam DR-07 first and this feels like a much better quality product. I find myself using it just as much. I also purchase the accessory pack, which has the USB cable, wind shield, tripod, remote, and more.Pros:Size - fits comfortably in your handManual gain is a knob on the side (easily adjust gain without going through menus)Recording/sound quality has been excellent. I can hear every detail without much of a noise floor.Has 4 different mic patterns for recording. Mid-Side is great and I can hear such a difference with that compared to just mid. Also love the 4 channel surround.Recording is as simple as pushing one button.Cons:Mic knob is a little bit of a pain to change as it is more of a dial with grooves in it to help you move it with your finger.Menus could be a little easier to navigate.Very sensitive to handling noise, so don't expect to hold it to record. For the price, this I definitely recommend this for anyone just playing around or someone needing a professional sounding on-the-go recording device.
