Fundamentals Success: A Q&A Review Applying Critical Thinking to Test Taking (Davis's Q&A Success)

Being a new Nursing student I found one of the biggest challenges to be getting accustomed to answering NCLEX style questions. They just are different from any other testing style I have come across as a college student so far. This is a great book for practicing questions related to the topics covered in Fundamental Nursing courses. The book is organized by topics in different chapters and gives you lots of practice questions. Included is the correct answers along with rationales that explain why each answer is either correct or incorrect. The key to really improving your test scores as well as to enhance your learning you must read the rationales not only for the correct answers but for the incorrect answers as well! I used this book to improve my comprehension of topics covered in class, to study for exams as well as for my end of semester HESI exit exam and found it to be very helpful. I just got this product and I already have done about 70 questions a day for the readings for my class.. I like the rationale because when I get it wrong and it tells me i'm like oh yea! ... so far still didn't take the first fundamental exam as I still have a week but i'm doing all the practice I can.. wish there was moer than 30 question for each topic because I need more practice.... Also, i bought it used so I have to do lots erasing =(

Product came on time! Since this product was used I was worried about the condition but this book completely matched the description & was hardly used. Also came with a disk that was in perfect condition. Happy with this purchase.

If you are struggling in nursing fundamentals, get this book for practice tests. I use this book at the end of each section, and improved my exams immediately. You do have to be diligent with the book though if you want to see result. I took a star off because there should be more tests than just 1 or 2 per section

I had taken the HESI A2 test with CT, but failed to make the minimum score for the Critical Thinking section because the official study guide did not give me any indication of what was on the test. I went through this textbook meant for nursing fundamentals (better value for the buck than the official HESI study guide). Knowing a few things in it (such as who to treat first in a triage, how to respond to a patient in a situation, how to decide which action is most important/essential, how laws apply, when the patient is given priority over legalism or what seems logical, etc.) got me over the hurdle; I passed the CT section by 2 questions. Plus, it was just interesting to find out what I will later learn when I become a nursing student.

Majority of my nursing topics for my first Rn semester was in this book. Boost my grade by 10 percent. I gaved it 4 stars because some of the questions were a little complex than required but I guess that can be an advantage or disadvantage , works both ways.

Using this book helped me raise my grade on tests from low Bs and one C to A tests. My lowest grade before using this book was 78 then after using it I got 90,91 and 90 on the following tests and final. It really helped me get an A in the class and it helps you understand the priorities of nursing. I was so happy that I went and bought the Med-surgical success book too, hopefully it helps just as much as this one.

I was struggling with my fundamentals class and was barely making it with a C. I got this book 75% through my semester and my test grades increased dramatically. They went from me getting 70's to getting high B's. I wish I would have bought it before the semester started...so I really recommend this book if you are taking fundamentals. It helps greatly with test taking skills and it also gives you rationales as to why an answer would be incorrect...something that some teachers fail to do. This gave me a better understanding of things! I'm keeping it to help me with my NCLEX and HESI exit test! I started off with no hope for passing the course and ended up with a B in the class. Highly satisfied! I will be buying all the series for my future nursing courses!
