ASUS is a name with deep roots in the PC business. I preferred a high level of trust as I transferred around 500 gigabytes to my new Samsung (990 Pro) 2 terabyte, M.2 NVME type SSD. Assembling my new drive into the ASUS case was quick and easy. Then, following Samsungs instructions, the transfer went smoothly and was done in just over 45 minutes. The real test is how my new Samsung drive took over responsibility as my replacement for a smaller main drive in my PC without a hitch. Even though my PC is PCI NVME Gen 3, the Gen 4 Samsung drive is incredibly faster on full virus scans which I did not expect since it has to run Gen 3 which is 8 gigabits per second vs 16 gigabits per second for Gen 4, in both cases for each of 4 lanes of PCI Express bus.

Fast, beautiful, sturdy, comes with two USB cables, comes with a protective rubber bumper and a hook, what else can I expect? I just wish every of my laptop accessories have the quality of this. Simply amazing.

The media could not be loaded. This thing is awesome. I had an extra 1TB m.2 drive after I swapped to a 4TB in my ally X. Decided to get an enclosure for it. I have to say ASUS just makes amazing looking products. This is by far the best looking enclosure on the market. It’s aluminum and sturdy. The details they put into this thing are cool the rgb lights the logo on the ends of the cables the R clip and soft bumper for the enclosure. The box it came in even just says I’m a good product. Easy to install the drive and good protection. Small form factor easy to store away not to heavy but feels good in your hand. Read and write speeds were good for usb connection. Highly recommend.

I've never dealt with SSD enclosures before. I was looking to add storage space but didn't feel like opening devices. I have to say, after using it for a little while, purchasing the ASUS ROG STRIX Arion was a great decision.Setup for the ASUS ROG STRIX Arion was rather easy...for the most part. It came with everything needed. Didn't even require the M2 screw to be removed. The device includes a heatsink, which, at first I was a little wary about. I struggled to get the device to lock closed. I've looked over the instructions a million times to see if I'm missing something, if I am, it wasn't written clearly. While I can close the device, it doesn't quite lock back shut. With everything installed, I connected it to my computer.With the tests I ran, the speeds come pretty close to the 10 Gb speed promised by the ASUS ROG STRIX Arion. Close enough to not complain. 10 Gbps (gigabits, not gigabytes) equals around 1250 Megabytes, my tests came back with speeds of around 1000. For me, that's close enough considering this storage was added via USB. A lot of other USB devices that have promised similar speeds have come up short, and while I could install the Samsung 990 in my computer to get the speeds up to its max capacity, with the ASUS ROG STRIX Arion, this internal SSD becomes a USB storage device that can be used with anything I choose, which is a major win.The RGB lighting is a nice little addition, but what has really impressed me is the way the device maintains a cool temperature even while in use. I have no fear of the storage failing due to overheating while using the ASUS ROG STRIX Arion.For those looking to add some extra storage, the ASUS ROG STRIX Arion is a wise choice for turning internal storage into external USB storage. While it is a bit pricier than some of its competition, I'd say its ability to keep a decent temp while in use makes it worth it. I'm willing to wager I made some error in attempting to relock the device, hopefully, you don't run into the same issue.
