I've owned and used the Mizar M24 tester for more than 12 years. Very accurate. The solution is part of the tester. Always follow directions exactly and test a known piece of gold first (I always used a simple gold ring known to be 14K or 18k). If the test doesn't give the correct results then the solution may be old. Simply test another piece of gold to check again. If wrong again then replace the solution with a new bottle (shown here). Excellent tester.

If you are using an RS Mizar M24 tester you have to have this. However, the RS Mizar does a great job of testing gold.
