Fairly easy to replace.
I purchased and put on for a 1998, 4.3 L MerCruiser. I did not need the gasket that others said was missing. The instructions say that the gasket they are talking about is replaced with another one that is in the packet. When I took my old one off, it did not have the gasket they said it was missing on it. The most difficult part is getting off the yellow cover to the bearings. I recommend using a long handled screwdriver so you can pry it up on each end. I also used Perma gasket. The only other issue I had working alone, was lifting the lower unit back into place and getting the boat started.

Check to make sure everything lines up in the kit before doing the job
This is a great kit. Quicksilver is always my go-to! The only complaint I have with the kit I recieved is I went to reassemble for my customer and found out the gasket in the kit was too small and none of the holes lined up. I cant afford to reorder and wait for the part to come in, then reschedule with my customer. I had a spare gasket to complete the job for my customer but I believe something should be done about the incorrect gasket.

lasted already a long season
my old set survived ( barely ) 7 seasons, lucky me. But my boat is located in super clean mountain lake, less damage from lack of debris in the water, so I stretched it some. Hope this one will perform great as well.

Poor quality and missing components
Did not come with all components. The carrier seal assembly did not come with the outer o-ring. I will now have to drive 45 minutes to the dealer tomorrow to buy one, if they have it. Also, the impeller had molding flashing all over it that needs to be trimmed down which means poor quality impeller. I will likely not be on the water this weekend.
