It is not too loud, but it does make some noise. The noise is not too disturbing at night, we were able to sleep with the machine on, but it is not soundless... Hope this helps.

Q: I lost my instruction booklet and I keep getting a read out saying Lo, and I don’t know what that means????

When you speak of the base are you talking about the removable reservoirs? If so, what you're experiencing may not be unusual. The key is where you're setting the dial for the mist. If you have it turned down low(er) it's not going to generate as much mist as a higher setting. I typically set my control at the 12 o'clock setting. I can run it for 24 hours at this setting and only one of the two removable reservoirs will run dry. At this setting I can keep the room at a decent humidity for the winter (around 40%). I would suggest (if you don't already have one) to buy a small temperature/humidity gauge so you can monitor the humidity levels better. Also, if you local water supply tends to be hard water you might consider using distilled water. This will extend the life of the humidifier.
