Do you need any special software to use this with Lightroom for shortcuts?

You also need to modify the X Touch Mini itself to work with Midi2LR and Lightroom, it's not ready to go out of the box. You connect it to a PC (as of writing this I don't think it can be done on a Mac). I bought a cheap $40 PC laptop on CL and use that to upload the software to the X Touch.

Can this be mapped to control da vinci: resolve using contollermate?

This device does have dedicated MIDI output, so your answer is a strong MAYBE. I don't use the controlermate software, but a quick look at it's specs says that IF you have a function map for Da Vinci, than YES, you can use this to control it. In other words, this is a MIDI controller, soit depends on the other two pieces of software working together.

does the knobs able to turn infinity?

Yes, they turn infinite. They have a light that shows the percentage of it that is currently active around each knob.
